About this listen
The Three Musketeers, written in 1844, is one of the greatest novels written by French author Alexandre Dumas. Set in 17th century France, The Three Musketeers chronicles the adventures of d’Artagnan, a young man who leaves home and travels to Paris in his pursuit of joining the king’s elite Musketeers of the Guard.
However, d’Artagnan is not able to join the elite Musketeers immediately, but he does ends up befriending the heroic Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis whose mission is to fight for justice. Through that friendship, d’Artagnan is cast into duels, love affairs, and sinister plots which lead him into such adventures as thwarting the cardinal’s plot to turn the king against his queen, the rescuing of Madame Bonacieux, along with various affairs of the heart, and revenge.
