A medical explanation not a self care manual
Don’t really understand why this was called a self care manual for type one diabetics. It sounds like an automated account of what diabetes is and has the added benefit of adding a few case studies and experiences, none of which are accounted with enough vibrancy to keep the listener engaged. I was really hoping to get some tips on proper self-care other than ‘speak to your health team’, ‘get help if’ et cetera- not a word of actual self-care advice to be found. But a monotone medical journal with a few spring Klingon if wry sarcasm. Nice to hear that the ‘cure in 10 years’ trope is being busted, made me smile enough to give it a few stars overall.
