About this listen

When the prize is death, some games are better lost than won.

If she loses, she becomes his queen, and he unleashes war across Earth and Tir n’Aill alike. If she wins, he dies. The answer seems clear. But then why can’t she bring herself to want victory?

The longer Abigail wanders through his Maze of Shadows, the less sure she becomes of anything—allies, enemies, wrong, right, evil, good, hate…and love. With every twist and turn, her heart is more fully trapped in his snare.

Facing the choice of whether to win—and kill the Bloody Prince—or lose and become his queen, Abigail can’t decide which is worse. In fact, she is starting to think that she might no longer want to win at all.

betrayal runs as deep as any blade.

Astounding, this book is extremely intense. Honestly I was so enraptured, I barely slept. The blood and gore, the twisted scheming and the dangerous games. This is packed with plot twists, and that cliffhanger ending i Honestly did not expect that. So much betrayal and revenge, this was explosive in the most exciting way. I am desperately looking forward to book 4, and hoping some treacherous fae get their comeuppance. This series is dark and twisted but extremely exciting and memorable, the characters will capture your heart more than you would expect. Especially Valroy, he's absolutely a very complex character with more to him than you realise. Every character is very well written and developed throughout the series, the storyline is so captivating and the lore is fascinating. This is a series worth reading/listening to, if you don't mind the dark and somewhat violent themes you will love this.

Delicious story, strong narration.

This story keeps getting better and better and either the narration got more natural or I got more used to his Abigail voice. The other voices were always great.
