One dress. Three women. A lifetime of secrets.
Among the cobbled streets of Frome in Somerset, Lou is about to start something new. After losing her mother, she knows it's time to take a chance and open her own vintage clothes shop.
In upstate New York, Donna receives some news about her family which throws everything she thought she knew into question. The only clue she has to unlock her past is a picture of a yellow dress.
Maggy is in her seventies, newly divorced and all alone in an empty house. Visiting the little vintage shop in Frome, with its rows of beautiful dresses, brings back cherished memories she'd long put aside.
For these three women, only by uncovering the secrets of the yellow dress can they unlock their next chapter...

Story Good, Recording Awful!
I'm glad I persevered despite wanting to give up just a few chapters in. I loved the story, but the choice to use different narrators made listening hard going. Lou was just the right volume, Maggie/Eleanor/Dotty too quiet and Donna too loud. I like to listen to audio books on car journeys but that was impossible as I had to keep adjusting the volume with each new chapter.

Poor recording and reading
The story was good but the recording let it down. I had to constantly adjust the sound level for the different characters. The somerset accents were appalling and Donna's character was portrayed rather simplistically.

Terrible recording quality, enjoyable story
I enjoyed the story, albeit a little saccharine in places, it was well written.
The quality of the recording is terrible, in places inaudible particularly the voice of Maggie, which is muffled. The voice of Donna is shrill and too loud in comparison.

Lovely, easy listening
Relaxing and nice to unwind to. Sweet tale. I had a sound issue with one of the narrators (Maggie) which spoilt the experience somewhat.

Live your life colourfully
I really liked this audiobook, although it played with my emotions quite a few times...
Such a warm, cozy and real story! That's exactly what I needed to mend my heart from an abundance of bad news.
One little criticism I have is that the voice actress, that narrated Maggie's POV, was sometimes hard to understand and at the beginning I constantly had to slow her down and go 10 seconds back.
But after the half point it became easier. Honestly, I even think that her voice suited Maggie quite well, while at the beginning I thought that she sounded older than she was.
Overall, really nice book it is. Will listen to something else by this author for sure.

A lighthearted book, I found it easy to listen to and felt it was well read. Well worth giving it a go.

Nice story but poor recording
This is a lovely story - but unfortunately let down by the narration. Maggie was particularly difficult to understand, I'm not sure if this was just the recording quality but I found myself having to turn the volume up high and really focus to be able to hear what she was saying. The Somerset accents aren't great either!

Great story let down by the narration
Maggie was so hard to listen to - constantly needed to increase the volume to be able to understand what she was saying.
Donna on the other hand was very shouty, which didn’t fit the character and was grating.
A shame because the story is great, as this author’s always are.
