Insightful and very opportunistic
I have had invested money and made my own moble studio for my music and acting career while I'm still in my second year of college. I thought about doing voice acting because of my interests in impersonations and thinking of acting in this genre of work. The recommended equipment listed in one chapter definitely took me by surprise as I currently own the AT2020 and Scarlet 2I2 audio interface and was happy that I chose right before getting this audible.
This audible is definitely extremely helpful for any person starting or continuing doing voice over work, voice acting etc.
I am deeply impressed at the way examples are included with snippets and demo reels from the author.
The way he describes the workplace, conditioning and the reality of voice over was very insightful and detailed to the point I had to rethink the way I viewed voice over.
The auditioning and sound checking chapter is very insightful and helped me to double-check any future tapes and how a small mistake could risk my chance at that job.
I am more interested to take this career path and hopefully by using this guide it would help me start-up easier.
Thank you - Angelo

Outdated and Self Serving
There are bits and pieces here that you can certainly take away from the audio teaching provided by Chris here. However, it is exceptionally out of date. Chris spends most the second portion of the book trying to desperately cling onto the old fashioned way the industry used to be and attempts to discourage the new generation of VO artists that otherwise might take a bite out of his wallet.
For a couple of hours of book that should have just been a few Youtube videos, save your money. The infomation in this book is relevent to VO artists in pre 2010.
