Editor reviews

A biographical narrative that traces the life of the Chinese mystic Saihung Kwan. The story follows Kwan's training in martial arts, qigong, herbalism, and other traditional Chinese practices, from the time he was a boy living in Taoist monasteries in the 1920s through the horrors of Japan's invasion of China in the 1930s. Throughout the story, Taoist teachings are interwoven with fantastic stories set among exotic locales. This is a book that has been beloved for years by those interested in Eastern medicine, and performer Ronin Wong's deep voice makes for a satisfying listen.

Wonderful

What did you like most about The Wandering Taoist?

I really loved following this wonderful journey. I mainly listen to books on mindfulness, philosophy, religion and science. This story (and its much more than that) was easy to listen to and fun at the same time. Highly recommended.

Looking forward to hearing parts two and three!

Amazing biographic telling and beautifully read, easy to listen to and inspirational. I'm immensely looking forward to hearing parts two and three of Kwan Saihung's life story; I only hope that they release them. Also, keep an eye out for Deng Ming-Dao's other titles; Scholar Warrior and 365 Tao.

This was the book that I needed right now.

I had been getting bogged down in studying Daoist thinking, but this book has gone a long way in helping me to clarify my thoughts and hopefully my practice.
