wonderful and charming.

I adore this version of the wind in the willows. the narrator has such a wonderful calming, yet e impressive voice that takes you on your journey along the riverbank, toad hall etc.
my favourite part was chapter seven, "The piper at the gates of dawn". it was read beautifully and really caught the magic and mysticism of that chapter.

Pure mindfulness in all but name.

This is the most beautiful telling of a tale that adults and children will adore. The narrator is perfect and warm for night time sleepiness! voices are quite distinct from each other and match the characters perfectly. Loved it loved it loved it! Zzzzz

Why do some books become famous?

At school my class read this book. Since I was a bad reader (haha, before audiobooks!) I didn't keep up and missed the story. So, I thought I would catch up, 40 years on. Better left as a vague memory, probably. What is this strange religious episode where a half-man half-goat demi-God rescues a baby otter - that Victorian throw back is conveniently deleted from the collective memory of this whimsical, children's story. Why the fame? Must be the character Toad. I know a man like him, I guess everyone does, and I guess that is genius.
