Some lovely elements
Some lovely elements to this story but I found it did seem a little stretched in the middle and was being to drag a little. The historical side told from Graces perspective was very touching, I’m not sure if it was the narration but I found Serena a little unrelatable and the modem day dialogue a little ‘twee’ and unrealistic at times. Overall a nice little story but perhaps better by reading than audio.

What a wonderful story of letting sadness and a trapped soul, free.

time slip novel which was skillfully intertwined
for me, the narrator is important, I have to be ok with listening to their voice over the hours and this was nicely read.
the story is easy to follow, despite being in 2 time eras spanning 3 or 400 years. I enjoyed the story of both main characters and although it had a white witch from the 16th century, it was mainly herbalism with some superstitious beliefs thrown in.
lovely read.. very much enjoyed this and without giving anything away, the conclusion at the end was fitting.

So good but glad I don't live in the 17th century.
Elena Collins is a terrific writer. I listened to this when I didn't really have the time but I was hooked and couldn't stop! The author's descriptions of the Somerset countryside made me feel like I was there. I loved the references to all things herbal, medicinal and foraging, Selena's love of art and the information she imparted about various artists and Nick's habit of spouting poetry and literature. A totally immersive novel with an excellent narration.
