About this listen
866 AD.
Saxon England burns under attack from the Great Heathen Army. Vicious Viking adventurers land on the coast of Frankia hungry for spoils, conquest and glory. Hundr and the crew of the warship Seaworm are hunted by Ivar the Boneless, a pitiless warrior of incomparable fury and weapon skill. Amidst the invasion of Brittany and war with the Franks, Hundr allies with the armies of Haesten and Bjorn Ironside, two of the greatest warriors of the Viking Age. Ivar the Boneless hunts Hundr, desperate to avenge the death of his son at Hundr's hand.
To survive, Hundr must battle against fearsome Lords of Frankia, navigate treachery within the Viking Army itself, and become a warrior of reputation in his own right. Hundr must navigate the war, survive Ivar's brutal attacks, and find his place in the vicious world of the Vikings in this unputdownable, fast paced adventure with memorable characters.
The Wrath of Ivar continues the unmissable Viking historical fiction saga series which began with Peter Gibbons' debut Viking Blood and Blade.

Enjoyable
A great story and I enjoyed this second book in the series. I think that the narrator let's it down slightly. You could be at a thrilling point in the story and the narrator is reading it as if he's telling the weather. Personally I would of preferred a little more emotion.
Saying this, I'm about to purchase the third installment. Looking forward to finding out what adventure's the sea worm crew have next.

Gibbons does it again.
He’s defeated Ivar the Boneless once, then fled. Now Hundar and his crew of Vikings must try again to evade the Son of Ragnar. There are bloody battles, high adventures and great characters. Nicholas Jordan’s narration is superb. He really gives each character a unique voice.

Historical fiction comes alive!
Loved this book as much as I did the first - Viking Blood and Blade. Gruesome and gripping, I'm totally invested in the characters and hope for many more books to come. The authors talent for setting the scene and the narrator's skill has me right there with these fierce Vikings!
