About this listen

If ever a whole town could be haunted, Devil's Moon, Kentucky, would be that town. Ripley Van Raden, or Rip as her friends call her, has come back to her hometown to start her own ghost tour business. That's not her only career path, though. Librarian by day and ghost tour guide by night, Rip is ready to take on the ghosts following her around and the mysterious residents who show up for more than the tour in the Devil's Moon Cemetery.

Her first day on the job as librarian, Ripley finds a dead body and a ghost who can only communicate through electronics. Who knew ghosts could send text messages? To make things even more complicated, Ripley meets a hot cop who happens to also be a ghost hunter. She doesn't know if Brannon Landon is interested in helping her or just around for the paranormal activity.

When Rip discovers threatening notes between the pages of a novel, she must solve the library patron's mysterious death before she unwillingly joins the other side of her haunted tour.

Don't let this book haunt you be letting it go

I have listened to a few books by this author before and thought I would give her new series ago too. Glad I did because it is a fun ghostly mystery with some good characters. Although I did like the main character at times she was a bit whiny and no sooner than she said she wasn't going to do or say something she turns right round and does it, I just hope she grows out of that habit in the next book. The mystery was interesting, I had worked out who the killer was, if not the why but I it was still fun and I liked the plot idea of being a librarian by day and a ghost tour guide at night. It was quite humorous trying to keep the fact that she talks to ghosts by test message secret and I look forward to starting the next book.
Ripley has returned home after finding her fiancee cheating on her, to take up the head position of librarian in the small town. She also starts up ghostly tour groups in the local shops and cemetery but she never expected to find them combining on her first day on the job, one of the ladies from the bookworm group falls down the stairs, clutching a cupcake. The resident ghost of the library believe she was murdered and Ripley should check out the book assigned for discussion. How can she ignore the persistent ghosts test messages? It is only when the police chief starts to take a closer look at her that Ripley believe the ghost is on to something. With an employee that doesn't like her at the library, an elderly lady trying to scare away he ghost tour clients, a police chief that wants to see her in jail and the locals giving her funny looks or avoiding her, She will have her work cut out for her if she wants to stay in town.
On the whole I did like the narrator but she got very excited reading this book and it felt like she needed to slow down and take a breath every now and again.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
