About this listen

They infect the strong and healthy to use as hosts, leaving the rest of the human population to rot.

Forced to drop out of school to support the family farm, Sheldon struggles to find anything positive to focus on his life—especially his drifting parents and social life.

But when the ruthless aliens make their terrifying selections and the town is now under siege, Sheldon must focus on an escape plan. Desperate, and on the run, he assembles an unexpected group of friends, hoping to find answers—hoping to find help. However, It's not long before he discovers the horrifying truth behind these rapidly evolving aliens and their terrifying yet curious vision.

And for Sheldon, maybe survival isn't about running.

Maybe survival isn't about fighting.

Maybe survival is about making sacrifices—heartbreaking, and terrifying sacrifices.

Good story with some great characters

Liked this story but wanted to like it much more! The story has some great characters particularly the two lead female characters both of which are tough and intelligent! The problem to me was the lead character Sheldon who was weak, cowardly, whiney and really not very bright! Not likeable in any way really! And I did spend much time hoping something really bad would happen to him!
The aliens where very good and unique and where almost a parody of todays eco movement! Lets save the planet by destroying the human race! There is an opportunity for the story to continue with the human race fighting back and maybe that will happen? Great narration as well by the way!

The moral of this story.

The author Christopher Francis used a real fungus which take over the brain of cold blooded insects while using antibiotics to keep them alive, doing this to move around and pollinate.
Taking this real biology mixing with an amazing imagination of alien invasion a beautiful story created by the author.

Excellent book.

Narration by Cotton Andrade is done beautifully for each of the characters in this creation.

Without a doubt,
my full recommendations !!!

Oded Ostfeld.
