Summary
A Sabbat Worlds novel.
When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle.
Listen to it because....
It's a vision of total war in the 41st millennium, from the smallest soldier to the largest God-Machine.
The story:
When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.
Written by Dan Abnett. Narrated by Toby Longworth. Run time 13 hours and 39 minutes

Outstanding
An absolute must listen tale of mechanicus shenanigans in the Sabbat worlds, excellent narration not that the story needed lifting but it certainly made it more enjoyable

Dan Abnett is a master story teller
Nobody creates characters that you care about faster than Dan Abnett. In this one off novel he sets up multiple characters with ultimately interweaving story arcs where you buy into each of them almost straight away. Seamlessly dropping between macro scale engine war and intimate scenes amongst the characters he weaves a story which is paced to perfection.

This is Mortis as it should have been written
Title says it all really.
Mortis was a huge let down in relation to Engine war. This wasn’t. Dan smashed it again.
Toby Longworth is Dan’s voice simple as that. Phenomenal as always.

The best Black Library novel ever written...
... and not a single Space Marine in sight! Honestly one of the best science fiction novels of the last couple of decades. It transcends it's warhammer setting and genre. I've read the novel half a dozen times but this new audio version just takes it to another level.

One of the highlights in all of Black Library
A must-listen for any titan lover out there, capturing all aspects of engine war, while also telling a compelling story. I really liked all characters and their characterizations.

boring twoddle
dear Warhammer community I gave this 4 hours then returned. A big let down, story rubbish ... The other reviews said the story was great how can you compare this to eisenhorn or Ravenor for story line ?
I'm on for big guns and so on but it has to have backing this is just really boring.
It's like the other book forge world it was rubbish as well
I'll tell you what's good You know if you like the same as me:
the new book about the Tao "crisis of faith"
The book about the Geanstealers on a forge world Days of Ascension with the new author for 40K Adrian Tchaikovsky totally class it's all story line..
Blackstone fortress
black legion
**LUTHER**
one the siege of terra books Saturnine
the first 4 horous herasay books
all of the Fabius Bile books
night lords saga
that's plenty
