Summary

Will the consequences of a terrible past haunt her treasured future?

Maisey McGinn finds herself on the doorsteps of Lena Dove’s in Denver in search of a better future for herself. Surely, the mistakes she made couldn’t follow her there? And if they could find her, would she be brave enough to endure whatever was to come?

Hogan Buchannan releases himself from the ties binding him to a scandalous family, opting for a humble lifestyle in the picturesque town of Denver. Upon arrival, the beautiful Maisey catches his eye. Before he can inquire about courting her, his past shows up in a black-and-blue taffeta dress and a scowl that could freeze hell itself.

Will Hogan and Maisey find their own slice of Colorado treasure, or will they succumb to the chains pulling them back to their harrowing past?

Another great love at the Whitman Hotel!

Maisie was one of Lena‘s dove’s and worked in the laundry at the Whitman hotel. Unfortunately Claudia passed away unexpectedly in Maisie took her place. Hogan left New York to get away from his overbearing mother and the death of his scandalized father. He wanted to build a life with his own two hands and a loving wife. When he first saw Mazy she took his breath away and he didn’t go unnoticed by her either. When Maisie starts to realize she is pregnant she feels pressure to tell him and get it over with. After all if he is going to court or he should know, but when he overhears Lena telling her she needs to take care because of the baby. He doesn’t falter in his fondness for her and only wants what’s best for her and the baby, but when his mother shows up all bets are off. She has gotten sneering down to an art form and her dislike for Daisy is immediate. Will she be able to come between Hogan and Maisie in his new life? Will she convince Hogan not to marry beneath his station? This book was so good and like always religion plays a big part in the story and the decisions the characters make. I love these books and cannot get enough of them. There’s something magical about the Whitman Hotel and its employees and guess. I highly recommend this book to those who love historical fiction independent females in caring men. men. You will definitely love this book!
