About this listen

From successful parents, learn how to train up your children rather than discipline them. With humor and real-life examples, this book shows you how to train your children before the need to discipline arises. Be done with corrective discipline; make them allies rather than adversaries. The stress will be gone, and your obedient children will praise you and bring joy and peace into your home. Thousands have testified to the amazing results of these profoundly simple techniques.

This book is not about discipline nor problematic children. The emphasis is on the training of a child before the need to discipline arises. It is apparent that though they expect obedience, most parents never attempt to train their child to obey. They wait until his behavior becomes unbearable and then explode.

With proper training, discipline can be reduced to five percent of what many now practice. As you come to understand the difference between training and discipline, you will have a renewed vision for your family - no more raised voices, no contention, no bad attitudes, fewer spankings, a cheerful atmosphere in the home, and total obedience from your children.

author and his wife love time with their children

the narrator has a lovely voice, alittle like earl hamner from The Walton's.
I don't live in the country nor do I homeschool and we have a television. I have purchased another book volume one. I am unsure whether I could continue once I start so I need more information. My child is always willing to please, she does her absolute best. I never found reasoning with a toddler successful, neither the naughty step. I need my child ready at a certain time. I get up earlier. I rarely smack my child as she wants to please. she has a pleasing nature, I tend to ask her and she does it.
I found this book interesting; but I will read the other three books. after this one. I have read the book on divorce and remarriage which was excellent. I have ordered the book Holy Sex. The more I know the more I can decide better. I never allow my child to scream in public I have always came home or went in to toilets to discipline her. So I will continue to seek further reading. I have always said to her I love you too much for you to behave like that.
