About this listen

To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to request more information about the assistant job I saw advertised in Sunday’s newspaper with the six-figure starting salary. I have a bachelors degree in English and many years of work experience and think I would be a good fit for the job. My questions are as follows: 1. What is the exact nature of the job? 2. Is it a strict requirement that I live with the boss? If so, can I have friends and others over? 3. The ad states there is a uniform. May I ask what sort of uniform? And why? Also, in lieu of sending a photograph, I’ve sent a picture of my very friendly dog that would also be joining me if I were to get the job.

Yours Sincerely,

Savannah Carter

Ms. Carter,

How do you know you’ll be a good fit for the job if you do not know the nature of the work? My ad specifically stated I was looking for an MBA grad, not an English grad who knows nothing about the real world. 1. This would be discussed in the interview. 2. Yes, you would be living with me. And no guests are allowed. 3. The uniform would be provided on your first day. You don’t need to know why. The job advertisement asked for a personal photo, is this your way of telling me you look like a dog?

Today must be your lucky day because you’re the only person who responded to my ad. Are you available for a phone interview tomorrow?

Unusual romance

I found this story a little difficult to get into and I feel it was the narrators attempt at the male characters. I won't be buying the next instalment even though book 1 ended on a cliffhanger.

Couldn’t stop listening

I found this book really intriguing and the story gripped me from the start. I liked all of the main characters and felt like I had gotten to know them. I’m fairly certain that I can work out the secret that the Hart brothers are hiding but can’t wait to read the next book to see if it unfolds the way I think. Although the ‘job’ is very unorthodox and a bit unbelievable, I did find that the story was relatable and believable throughout. I really enjoyed listening to this story.

Savannah and Wade!

Savannah may be book smart but not so much when it comes to life skills. She finds herself in student debt up to her eyeballs and with no job she has no way of paying her monthly expenses. She needs a job and is running out of options so she can’t afford to be picky. She may not be a perfect fit for the ad she answered but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Wade is a successful businessman who is high on skill, low on patience but he can be very charming if necessary. He requires an assistant who he can call on at a moment’s notice, but he isn’t about to let anyone, especially his employee break through the walls that he has built around his heart due to his past.

Both Wade and Savannah are compelling characters as they try to maneuver the situation, they find themselves in and the feelings that they are developing for each other in spite of themselves. Their interactions have the perfect balance of sarcasm and wit which combined with the secondary characters and the secrets yet to be revealed leave more questions than answers and have us wondering what the future holds for his couple. I thought that the narrator did a great job with both characters and the story.
