About this listen
The Apocrypha is a word of Greek origin, meaning “to hide away,” “obscure” or “things that are hidden," and is the name that has been given to a group of texts found in some versions of the Old Testament recorded by Jewish writers.
Found inside the Greek Septuagint, some are believed to predate Christ they are considered to be canon scriptures by some churches but have been rejected by the Protestant denominations.
Now, in this book, The Apocrypha, you will find all of these ancient texts, along with three other books which offer insights into the Christian faith that were once thought to be lost, including The Book of Enoch, The Book of Jubilees and The Book of Jasher. Each of these offers the listener a look at certain events in Christian history and together form a unique account of well known events from a different perspective.
Perfect for students of biblical times but also written for general listeners and those who have a passing interest in the book’s history and place within Christian thinking, The Apocrypha makes complex texts more generally accessible to the average listener.
