Summary

Training Camp is an inspirational story filled with invaluable lessons and insights on bringing out the best in yourself and your team. The story follows Martin, an un-drafted rookie trying to make it in the NFL. He's spent his entire life proving to the critics that a small guy with a big heart can succeed against all odds. After spraining his ankle in the pre-season, Martin thinks his dream is lost - but then he meets a very special coach who shares 11 life-changing lessons that keep his dream alive, and might even make him the best of the best.

If you want to be your best, Training Camp offers an inspirational story and real-world wisdom on what it takes to reach true excellence and how you and your team (your work team, school team, church team, and family team) can achieve it.

Faith Based Parable that Outlines Excellence

I'm not a religious person at all, and I loved this book. Through the story, you keep hearing references of "Him" and "God" and at first it bothered me. But then IT happened.... In the story you are reminded that faith isn't about religion, it's about your relationship with whatever you believe in. I thoroughly appreciate that about this book.

In other topics, the story is great and does outline plenty of traits of achievers and successful people. It demonstrates how all that is not accomplished by one person, but all those around that person as well.

A perfect motivator

I loved the flow in the story. Didn't like what happened to Coach Ken and I sobbed myself. I did learn some new traits to add to my personality. A must read for all who wants to humbly lead!

Cringy and preachy

This book would've been a lot more enjoyable without the numerous biblical and new age references.

Glad the hard copy was a gift.
