About this listen
“It is not science that opens doors to other worlds. It is desire.” (My Third Eye)
Includes the 2018 Crypticon winner "Ol' Betsy".
Eleven stories of horror, dark fiction, and fantasy that will take the listener into worlds where a centuries old hanging tree feeds on the living, and a lovecraft inspired tale of a mad genius opens a portal to another world filled with hideous creatures, and a pretentious travelling salesman is haunted by ghosts who have come to make him pay for the sins of his past.
In “Broken City”, a young man living life on the dangerous edge of drugs and violence is tracked by demons with a hideous agenda. In “The Lake”, a widowed man seeks solace during a two-week reteat in a cabin, but what lies hidden in the lake is about to wash ashore, and propel him into solving a mystery that will unearth unimaginable horrors.
Finally, “Deadman’s Pass” plunges you into an old western town, where a sheriff is tasked with rescuing a carriage of innocent people trapped in a winter blizzard, but the cold is the least of his worries. The beasts waiting in the dark and howling at the moon are hungry.

This author is truly demented
From the very first story I thought this book should’ve came with a warning that should read do not read alone. I did and I had to stop halfway through even though I had a feeling of how it ended I still had to stop and wait for my husband to get home from work. And some anthologies you will get a few great stories some good and some just so so that is not the case in this book I found every story to be fear inducing or at the very least made my heart palpitate and me sit on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to read more from this author. He truly has a mind for horror and the narrator has a perfect voice for horror so if you put the authors stories and the narrators voice together you have a perfect audiobook and it is one I highly recommend to anyone who likes horror as I do it was so freaking awesome!
