Summary
What happens when the world's fiercest fashion editor learns she's pregnant—and her distracting assistant is the only one she can turn to? This wildly popular age-gap lesbian romance mixes humor and chaos with self-discovery.
Jules Moretti is newly single, an aspiring writer, and the hyper-competent assistant to the most powerful woman in fashion. It's a tough job, but her ice queen boss won't settle for less than perfection.
Vivian Carlisle helms the internationally revered fashion publication Du Jour. She might be smack in the middle of a messy divorce, but you have to make sacrifices to be the best. That's what she tells herself, anyway.
When the unthinkable happens, Vivian's regimented world is turned upside-down. Her life is about power, success, and dominance—not a baby!
This single, shocking moment throws boss and assistant together into an intimacy neither could have imagined. With their lives in chaos, every day brings a new challenge bigger than the last. But everything will work out . . . just so long as they don't do anything totally ridiculous.

Slow Burn but worth it!
This was probably closer to 3.5 stars for me personally. I did judge it early on as I felt the ‘Slow Burn’ was very slow. But, that being said, it was worth the wait 😂 I enjoyed the plot/storyline. And the spice 🥵 wow!
Would recommend if you like a workplace sapphic romance, Ice Queen boss, Boss/Assistant, age gap and slow burn.

fantastic
truly wonderful to read, it had me gripped the entire way. I especially enjoyed the reference to Lee Winters' the brutal truth. which the story shares some major similarities all whilst staying its own story

Ice Queen
Well, Vanessa is the ice queen to end all ice queens. Not exactly a likeable character until at least halfway through the story.
But the story is great, and Abby Craden’s narration is spot on as usual. I’m hoping that the next book carries on their relationship and I can’t wait to listen to it.

Impressive writer but NOT impressed by narrator
This book is a wonderful book. Ms Sinclair you are a great story teller and have enjoyed both your other book on audible. They are great stories and well narrated.
This book is also well written, but I can only wish you used a different narrator. I know this will get me in trouble, as I am going against the grain. I am afraid the accents and voices Ms Craden uses are just the same as all her other books, though there is a little variation in one of the lead characters and is not as gruff as her usual is. It seems to be read rather than acted. Oh and the British accents, oh my. Maybe I want to much but I want to be able to see the movie in my head to the words being said..
I did enjoy the story and will no doubt get the second one, even if I end up gritting my teeth to the narrator.
I feel I have not said enough about the actual content of the book, it's classic ice queen and It is good, just wish for a different voice.

Slow burn but worth the wait
Loved every minute. It was predictable and slow at times but couldn’t stop listening! I think the narrator did an excellent job.

Loved it.
What a fantastic storyline, it was brilliant. I can't wait to see what happens in the next instalment.
Abby Craden is a skilled narrator, but not in her pretend English-language accent. I am English and it was hilarious and so bad.
Great story and definitely would recommend.

I enjoyed the story and Abby Craden gives her usual stellar performance. Very much in the "Devil wears Prada" trope but well worth it. Now to get part 2.

I didn't want this to stop!
I was totally swept away with this storyline... my imagination running wild with every change of pace...every glimpse of feelings coming in to play... Roslyn, you have a new fan... and I look forward to your next offering, with Abby firmly by your side narrating...
The passion, the raw emotion... I went on this journey wanting more...
brilliant, enjoyable, gripping, exciting and finally the acceptance of deep emotions and love...
Abby, you are the fire in every word, every expression... the best narrator out there by a mile... you know how to lay a story bare and provoke so many emotions... bravo for an excellent performance ..

Finally!
It can be hard to find stories in this genre where the characters don't feel forced and finally this is one! Plot is great but the characters are really what drives this. Even the smaller characters are distinct and really come to life through the audio. Highly recommend.
