About this listen
Lex
They've taken my girl. My little bird.
I'll do whatever it takes to get her back, even if it means I have to level this city to the ground. They've woken the monster, and I'll be damn sure my face is the last one they see before I send them all to hell.
Wren
Beaten. Bruised. Broken.
They want me weak and submissive, but they've underestimated me. I'm no damsel. They've taken me from Lex, and I know he'll do everything to get me back. After all, I'm the queen of this city, and my rightful place is next to the king.
It's time to end this war.
Twisted King is the second and final book in the Twisted City Duet. It cannot be listened to as a stand-alone.
A dark, dangerous, and deliciously sinful mafia romance.

I want more!
As with the first book there is lots of spice and you just fall in love with Lex that little bit more. Wren blossoms into a pheonix and just goes from strength to strength.
This book I would say is darker and does mention human trafficing & suicide so could be a trigger for some. But even with these darker themes it still has a HEA which is a must for a good romance.
Some of the spicey scenes were VERY hot and made so much hotter if listened too as Joe Arden & Lucy Rivers just take it to a new level which had my stomach clenching!
Just sad it had to end!

I really hoped and wanted to love it but...
Well... That was a disappointment 😔
It started so good and just went down
From a strong h she became so powerless
And the end of the book? I just don't get it
I'm willing to give another chance because I've heard so many recommendation about this author
I hope the other book will be better
The narrators did such an amazing job tho

What a conclusion!
Ria Wilde continues her dark and dangerous ride in this second book of her Twisted City Duet. Picking up where we left off, we have Wren injured and taken by her father and Lex left for dead. Now we get a chance to get to know Marcus and his devious ways. Lex has no intention of sitting back and letting go of his little bird. Marcus has no intention of giving up his daughter and power. And Wren has no intention of giving up her chance of getting out. Questions, twists, turns, spicy scenes, twisted violence, sadness and true love. This is what Ria Wilde brings to my ears with her intriguing dark romance. Wren is much more powerful than she ever realized. Very intuitive and strong in her desire to survive, she proves to be a dangerous adversary. Marcus is nothing short of evil. Power hungry and no remorse for his actions, he is easy to hate. Leaving Lex, who at first, I wasn't sure about. Alpha male, definite leader, and loyal to those he loves, he is one I warmed to as the story progressed. The secondary characters, like Griffin and Riker added depth to the story and a bit of emotions. It's a great duet, a place to escape and enjoy.
Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers finish out their amazing narration with a stellar performance. Arden gives so much to his characters and as Lex, I get it all. The alpha male, commanding what he needs, the powerful leader running his men and the true friend and lover. Rivers keeps Wren strong and lets her grow. I could hear her change as she learns truths, hardening in some cases and softening in others. These two are fabulous and together, they are magic.
