Summary
An MM romance story of survival, healing, and finding the courage to love.
Harper Reid has no money and nowhere to go, but he can't spend one more day under the same roof as his abusive boyfriend. Desperate to start fresh, he takes on a special case through the caregiver agency that contracts him. The client has fired everyone else, but this job includes lodging, so Harper will find a way to make it work until he's back on his feet.
High-flying, eccentric Riley Davenport has lost his sight, effectively clipping the vivacious man's wings. Learning to navigate in darkness is difficult enough without being treated like a house plant by his girlfriend, parents, and friends. The last thing he needs is another pushy caregiver, hovering over him curtailing the last of his freedom.
But Harper Reid is different...very different. Nervous, quiet, reserved. It's almost like Harper has secrets and is the one who needs to be taught how to live again. And why does he smell like sugar cookies? Men aren't supposed to smell delicious.
Trigger warnings: off-screen domestic abuse, adult language, explicit consensual sexual content.

Very touching and profound story
I loved this slow burn story - to the point I wished it had been longer ! The way the characters find themselves and each other leaves a very emotional imprint on the reader / listener.
The two voice actors did also a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. Just discovered this author, will be looking for more books from her ! :)

Brilliant book
I read this book a while ago and I’ve been waiting for the audio version. The narrators did an amazing job bringing Harper and Riley to life. Audio hits different, you feel instead this the story like your right there with them. The hurt and trauma poor Harper went though was heartbreaking but upon meeting Riley his life changed. Riley is full of humour even through his blindness he always sees the positive. These two are everything. Dianna gave us an amazing story.

Great story
I loved these two and how much love they had for each other.
I thoroughly enjoyed the slow burn which is unusual for me, I can be quite impatient.
And really loved the narration!

All the stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5 stars amazing! 🌟
I absolutely adored this book! The narration was wonderful and story fantastic! Trigger warnings for domestic abuse (previous relationship). I just loved how they helped each other through their struggles but both ended up being able to function independently as well. Worth every penny.

Enjoyable from beginning to end
Great writing, great narration, a completely enjoyable listen. Humorous, heartwarming, quick paced, and a romance that builds. Narrator needs praise for this book too. The voices were perfect. Totally recommend. Will be buying next in series and any other that come out, as was exactly what I needed.

Well worth a read, stayed away from overused storylines
Super narrators, good story which drags a little at the end, author could have had a cleaner ending but still a great read with insights into a various issues not often tackled in this genre

such a great story
I read this book a little while ago and I adored it so I'm glad it's now on audio too. This book was so good and is one of the stories that will stay with me. In this story we meet app developer Riley who is blind after an accident and carer/visual impairment rehabilitation therapist who has escaped a violent relationship and is looking for a place to live. They meet when Riley needs a new live in helper and the get along from the start. Harper ends up helping Riley with his rehabilitation and they become very close and Riley realises that he isn't as straight as he thought but Riley is still working on his issues from his relationship. It was definitely a heartfelt love story and it had some serious issues but there were some funny bits too and I was pleased to see the snark i enjoy from Dianna's writing. And I loved the dog Larry too.it really was a great book 💜 I thought the narration fitted the characters too.

Soo good 😍
It's first review I'm leaving, that much of an impression this title left. I listened to many many mm romances, and I'm usually looking for the spiciest once, but this one is exceptional, the build up is amazing, story incredible, narration first class. Over all one of the best books I've listened in the long time.

All the feels with some humor
M\M
GFY
Nurse/Patient
Slow burn
Hurt/comfort
Disability Rep (newly blind)
Abusive exes (Trigger Warning: off and on-page violent attacks)
This author managed to take 2 MCs, both coming from terrible circumstances and still make it an absolutely hilarious, fun story. One straight man named Riley who has a crazy obsession with food whom happens to be newly blinded and newly single from a woman who held his progress back and one gay man named Harper who is a care nurse who left an abusive relationship and needs a live in job and whom Riley thinks smells like cookies and also "the worlds ugliest dog" who had multiple name changes everyday. I haven't laughed or swooned this much in a long time. I absolutely recommend this book.
Narration = 4.5 stars
This audiobook is a duel narration. Both narrators were great at keeping a good pace and expressing all the emotions wonderfully and brought the story to life. Greg Boudreaux has a wonderful reading voice and did distinct character voices to make it really easy to follow and a joy to listen to. I think Iggy portrayed Rileys quarky personality well but in the chapters he did both the MCs viuces the same. So for that I had to leave off half a star.
