Summary
Wake had lived in fear for far too long. Life hadn’t been easy for him. Every day, he resisted his natural instincts to claim the one female meant for him. An event from his past stopped him in his tracks every time his primal urges pushed him toward her.
Paige accepted the role she played in Wake’s life. She was the one he wanted but never allowed himself to have. But when someone else showed interest in her, Wake had to decide, once and for all.
Putting his heart on the line left the shifter vulnerable, something he never wanted to be again. And just when he gave in to his instincts, fate dealt the pair a cruel hand.
Nightmares came true, causing Paige to flee to the only place she felt safe - in the arms of Wake. Pack life wasn’t an easy life, but Paige wouldn’t give up the man who held her heart. Only together could the two move forward and find the happiness they both deserved.

Great Paranormal Romance
The narration of this book was pretty good! Sarah L Colton and Troy Duran narrated it just perfect, they really were a perfect team, I love all their voices and their performance made me enjoy this book even more.
⠀
The story line was good and I liked the paranormal world the author created, what I like the most isthat it's not just. shifters but other paranormals as well, and the interaction between everyone is well done.
This book makes me want to go back to the trilogy where some of the secondary characters where first introduced, specially Ari and Orion.
⠀
The only drawback for me was the insecurity in Wakes, I understand it, but it was frustrating that he couldn't see past it and give his feelings a chance. I loved Paige, she's great, I really like how she wasn't going to settle for anything less that what she deserved and wanted, and wasn't beginning for love. She's strong and determine.
Ari is just the best, an amazing friend, one everyone wished they have. And as for Solomon and Ford, those two are so funny to be around.

The Power of Fear
Audiobook review. Fear is powerful. It can stop someone from doing something as much as it can push them to do something they might not otherwise do. It’s a testament to one’s character how one uses its power.
Wake’s growth in this novel is evidenced by how he transitions from one end of the spectrum to the other. While I admit it was at times frustrating to wait for this development to happen, I respect that it takes time to establish his behavior and patterns before moving forward.
Paige was a little more balanced. I admired that while she knew what and who she wanted, she also knew what she deserved and she wasn’t willing to give up on herself.
The plot had some originality and though the pace was on the slower side for me, it worked out in the end. The writing was good overall. The narrators, Troy Duran and Sarah L. Colton did a great job with their transitions, inflections, tone and pitch.

Shifter romance
I did not realize this was a spinoff when I began the story. Thankfully there was plenty of backstory to keep from feeling lost. I think I may have enjoyed it better if I read the original storyline but it's not necessary.
The narration on this was fantastic! Both narrators did a great job bringing their characters to life. I especially love Troy. His voice is so sexy!

Wake's Claim
I thought reading this story, it was tragic and pulled at my heartstrings. I fell in love with Wake from The Ariane Trilogy, but putting a voice to Wake let me know my cold heart still works. When you place a personality to the characters made this beautifully tragic to me. Michelle Dare has a way with words. Sarah and Troy were magnificent! I wasn't expecting the dual narration, but I don't think it could have worked any other way. I think it would help if you read/listened to the first series, that way you can better understand Wake, but Michelle does a great job with giving enough backstory that if you haven't read/listen to them, you'll be fine.

I need more stars
Wow, I literally don’t know how to write this review. I thought Michelle had written her best work with The Ariane Trilogy but she has continued that trend with so much ease. Wake isn’t your usual Alpha shifter, he is more submissive, until pushed too far! This book had me looking at Wake in such a different light. Great storyline fantastic characters and so much light hearted humour. I can’t recommend it enough. I need more stars! Fantastic narration from both Sarah and Troy.

What a great book!!!!
Wake is a shifter... who had his confidence battered by an attack by a vampire... he knows who his mate is but is afraid to claim her. He knows she is his mate.. and he doesn’t want anyone else... but what if??
Paige lives wake and knows she is his mate.. but she is tired of waiting for him to claims her. She finally comes to a point where she is ready to move on. To find someone who truly wants her and is not afraid to be with her!
Will Wake finally come to his senses?? Or will Paige find someone who lives her and is. It afraid to be with her??
This is one of the best shifter books I have listened to!! Michelle Dare did a wonderful job writing this and Sarah L Colton did a great job, as did Troy Duran is awesome too... I love his deep voice!!!

Paranormal Romance
Wake’s Claim by Michelle Dare is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Troy Duran and Sarah L. Colton.
This is the first book of Michelle’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I liked this spin on the paranormal world. This is the first book in the Paranormals of Avynwood series but I feel like it would have been helpful to read The Ariane Trilogy first. Michelle does a great job of referencing previous events so it can be read as a standalone and a spin off series. I have already downloaded the first book Ashen Moon in the trilogy to dive deeper into this world she created.
Sarah and Troy did an amazing job on the narration. They really brought the story to life.

Stick With It
I'm going to be completely honest here. I almost put this book down. The beginning of the book got under my skin so much. I just can't even begin to explain it. One of my biggest turn offs with books is the angst stuff that tends to hit lovers at random. Well, mainly when it's been drawn out in the most excruciating and painful way possible. I stuck with the book anyways. I'm glad I did. It really turned around. The only thing I want to critique is that I wish they had drawn out some of the things that happened in the book. I really adored Paige. In ways, I saw myself in her. She's sweet and loyal. I loved her friend Ari too. Wake is the problem I had with the story. I mean I get that he'd been burned in the past, but COME ON! It was a bit dramatic. All the characters were pretty amazing. Some had too much time in the background for my liking. My favorite was Solomon. He kind of reminded me of Spike from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Both narrators were pretty great. They made a great duo. I'm not sure if I've listened to anything from Sarah L. Colton before. I feel like I have heard at least one book by Troy Duran though. I can't say for sure. Either way, I'd be willing to hear other books narrated by both of them. They have talent. The book was really great after I got past the part that was getting under my skin. I'm really glad that I gave it a chance and stuck with it. I fully encourage anybody who struggles with it to stick with it to at least the halfway point. If they still don't like it after that, then they are more than welcome to put it down. They will be missing out though. This book gets great. I see it's a book 1. I'll have to look into the rest of the books.

Loved both the narration and the story
I loved the narration of Troy Duran and Sarah L Colton, they compliment each other beautifully.
I enjoyed getting lost in this tale of fated mates and the way they fought against it. I quite enjoyed the fact that it was not plain sailing. This is the first book I have listened to, and the first in this series, yet I felt like I had stepped into the middle of a fully formed world as things from before that affected the characters were mentioned throughout. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed that element of it as it felt like it wasn't starting from scratch but now I need to go see if those books are out there somewhere!

Wake’s Claim
Wow. What a great listen. There is so much back story I this book that I believe this must be a spin-off from another series. I will definitely be looking into this and devouring that series as much as I did this book. Who would love a book that has a love so strong that no matter how you fight it, you will have to give in and find your perfect mate that was made for you. I will be looking for more of this series to come out in the future.
