About this listen
In the world of Draenor, the strong and fiercely independent Frostwolf Clan are faced with increasingly harsh winters and thinning herds. When Gul'dan, a mysterious outsider, arrives in Frostfire Ridge offering word of new hunting lands, Durotan, the clan's chieftain, must make an impossible decision: abandon the territory, pride and traditions of his people or lead them into the unknown.
An original tale of survival, conflict and magic that leads directly into the events of Warcraft, an epic adventure from Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures based on Blizzard Entertainment's global phenomenon.

Excellent
Loved it, great intoduction to the Orcs world. Wonderfully narrated. Fully recommend if you're planning to watch the movie.

Amazing but lacking action
This was my first audio book experience and it was amazing! I found myself excited to get a spare half hour to sit down and listen to it. The story is amazing and the characters are portrayed fantastically.
If I had to criticise I would say the book itself could have a little more action.

Proud Orcs!
I greatly enjoyed the tone of this book and the representation of the orcs in this world. The presentation of their rituals and their sense of pride and honour. It made connecting with their story all the more touching.
The narrator did an excellent job of putting some variety in the gruff voices of the orcs, as it would be very easy to have them all sound very similar.
Having finished this just before going to see the movie, I can confirm that it's a great lead up, which had me feeling far more empathy for some of the characters that make it beyond this story and into the new feature film.

yeah the film could have been better
though personally I did still enjoy it, this prequel story was amazing. focusing on just the orc story was really interesting.
though I must say I have zero knowledge of the games it's based on.

Loved the movie
Frost Wolves are awesome, WoW is enjoyable. Always wondered about the larger story and the things leading up to Guldan in the movie. Not sure I’d play the game but 😁 I’m excited to see if there are any more characters I’d like more than the orcs?

Great story, but...
I'm an avid WoW fan, I know well the story, where it is set and how it goes. The narrator is great with reading, with voices...but for these orcs, hearing them as londoners and the mispronounciated way he said Drac'thar (he said drak tar, when in the game its a solid 'th' sound) it really got me correcting him as it went on, after ranting to my husband the first time he mispronounced. Stuck it out as I love all the lore of WoW, personally didn't like this narrator with this story.
pros
• Love the story.
• Followed the in game lore very well
• Made me nostalgic for frostfire ridge
cons
• Made me nostalgic for frostfire ridge (iykyk)
• Mispronounced names
• Gave the orcs London type thuggish voices.

Loved it, great start to a epic story.
narrator was excellent. I loved the characters and it was easy to follow and didn't get confused at all.

Great for free trial.
loved the story, really enjoyed the performance. Looked at other books and refuse to pay the amount asked for them, which is disappointing. Far too expensive for what they are.

The alternative side
loved it! Shows a personable side to the orcs not normally seen in games or other books

Waste od time
History is flat with little grip on the listner. Maybe for a WoW fan. Not for High Fantasy lovers.
