About this listen

Part lawman, part tracker, and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters–tasked with protecting people from the nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men.

Following the disappearance of his older brother, Tom, Errol Magnus found himself thrust into the role of Warden for their region. It was an experience that required him to grow up quickly and become highly competent at his job–if he didn’t want to end up in a monster’s gullet.

But now Tom has been located, alive but stranded on a distant isle. As a result, Errol must undertake a voyage across the sea in order to bring him home.

However, the ocean depths are home to creatures beyond the ken of even the most proficient of Wardens. Thus, as he travels through dangerous, uncharted waters–encountering hazard after hazard–it soon becomes clear to Errol that attempting to save his brother’s life may very well cost him his own.

Another wonderful warden adventure

With a lot more depth to the series this showcases a nice new field of monster with many a legendary sea creature and a perilous voyage to join the brothers together.
As with all of Hardmans writings this goes too quick and it feels like your barely into the story and it's gone.
As this is the narration of Naramore the audio is always a sure fire enioyable listen.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

Epic Hardman

There are not many authors that can write an epic fantasy adventure that makes the listen feel like they are joining the hero on the adventure but this author certainly can and does. I loved it. This is book four of the Warden series and the monsters are bigger, wetter and more dangerous, don't worry if you haven't read or listened to the previous books because it does work great as a standalone but as I have enjoyed all the rest I would recommend that you sit back and enjoy the series and wonderful imagination of a great story teller. I love the characters, Errol might be a monster hunter but he is great as a main character, as he is still compassionate and very capable. The kind of guy you want around in a fight because trust me there is plenty, as well as dangerous situations. I can't wait to see what the author dreams up next.
Errol stepped up to defend his home town by doing a job he never wanted, when his brother went missing. Now his brother is the one in trouble and Errol embarks on a life of death mission to find him. Tom has been stranded on a distant island that nobody has ever been too, or at least if they did they never survived to talk about. Joined by a cursed crew he must travel across uncharted waters, fight new and deadly foes in order to find his brother but not everybody will make it.
The narrator is one of my all time favourites and he could make reading a recipe sounding interesting. So makes a great story even better.

A whole new set of monsters

When Errol finds out his missing brother is still alive, he immediately wants to set out to rescue him. On the way he encounters a whole new set of monsters in the ocean.
My only criticism of the writing is that characters constantly 'intoned' rather than just speaking normally.
The narrator is really good, I like his different characters.
