Summary
Clive Barker has made his mark on modern fiction by exposing all that is surreal and magical in the ordinary world - and exploring the profound and overwhelming terror that results. With its volatile mix of the fantastical and the contemporary, the everyday and the otherworldly, Weaveworld is an epic work of dark fantasy and horror - a tour de force from one of today's most forceful and imaginative artists.

Terrible scouse accent
Simon Vance read everything else in this audio book brilliantly so well done. However, as a born and bred Scouser I have to say his Liverpool accent is dreadful and as such spoilt the audio book for me. I had read the novel many years ago and truly believe it should have been a movie. But I'm afraid Simon would never get the lead. Sorry mate!

Much ado about nothing
What did you like best about Weaveworld? What did you like least?
The story set off at a detailed and intricate pace, then continued the same. Not impressed.
What could Clive Barker have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Opened the story more quickly.
What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Don't know. I got an hour, maybe two into it, then gave up. I shall return this book.
Did Weaveworld inspire you to do anything?
Go outside and complete my irrigation pipe system instead of listening to it.
Any additional comments?
This is a much hyped tale that, frankly, didn't live up to the hype. I expected something along the lines of Deborah Harkness, but with much darker undertones. I was bored bored bored. There was no early hook after the episode with the first viewing of the carpet (which promised much to come). I shall return this book.

Amazingly wonderful and special ...
On recommendation from a good friend I was passed a battered book. I got the audio book and devoured it. A wonderful tail which is so tantalising close it feels almost true ... am I a cuckoo ... perhaps I am???

Magical.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if you are new to fantasy then this a great place to start. It is a great listen from start to finish crossing boundaries from light to dark and all the grays to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Weaveworld?
There isn't one moment really there are no end.
What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
A depth to the read, I read the book many years ago but having read to me a me chance to actually listen to the story.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Fight on
Any additional comments?

that which is imagined need never be lost
Brilliant performance of one of my favourite books. Awesome in it's every meaning. While I imagine there are people who won't enjoy this, please try it and allow rapture to bring you back to it

Great story, hampered.
Great story. Great. Unfortunately , time has undone the vocal performance. Shadwell, one of the main characters sounds like Mat Berry's ' Stephen Toast'. You can't unhear it. Great story though. Needs re narrating.

One of my fave Clive Barker novels
Great story and narration only let down slightly by the poor Liverpudlian accents. Simon Vance is usually great and he is throughout the rest - but in places where Cal and Brendan's accents were wavering between Yorkshire, Birmingham and Liverpool it was pretty jarring.

Great story of horror fantasy and adventure.
I've not read Clive Barker before, my first experience was the audio book of Damnation Game which I enjoyed so thought I'd try Weaveworld.
Narration was great as I always love Simon Vance narration.
Sorry was a wonderful emotional ride of horror and fantasy. More fantasy than horror but it does have its darker moments.
