Summary

There are dark places in the forest....

Cold, sun-starved places where man wasn’t meant to go. But the hunters didn't—couldn’t—know that. They just knew what their leader had told them that the expedition was meant to test their mettle, to separate the men from the boys.

Four men went into the forest that day, entering the valley where the ancient evil hid. And when the winds came to collect them, when the animals they slew refused to die, they quickly learned who among them was weakest and strongest.

One day later, two men crawled out of the killing ground. Only to bring hell with them...where the chill waits.

So so horror

Its definitely a good idea just executed in some very wishy washy story plots i mean its not bad just not top tier its worth a listen just don't expect it to be a classic

loving the creepy wood vibes

I really enjoyed this book. It had awesome creatures, creepy woodlands, and lots of Native American lore. A bit slow start but not boring at all, and then lots of dark twisty woods vibe.
The audiobook narrator did a great job (some regular background noises are audible, but they're not distracting).
Definitely highly recommended.
