A brave book. A must read. Really Recommend. Practical tips to work through your trauma.

I absolutely loved this book and whole heartedly recommend it. It makes a massive difference reading something like this, knowing the horrendous trauma the author herself has suffered during her life, so she can relate and is not preaching, i.e. she's been through it all herself. It's extremely well written, but most of all is full of practical exercises and tips to help you through your trauma/own journey. I listened to it on Audible and also found Charlie's voice herself to be very calming to listen to. It's a brave book you must get!

superb, insightful and helpful

this is unlike most of the self help books I've ever read, and I've read a lot. Charlie manages to help the reader navigate the complex journey of trauma in a different way. a guide that also offers a different perspective on what people face. everyone has a different journey yet we all ted a similar path. the way in which Charlie speaks is refreshing, relatable and sympathetic yet offers hope to us all. being brave enough and vulnerable is difficult and this book will help so many people. thank you Charlie.

Trauma in laymen's terms❤️

A book that helped me so much and will do the same for others 🫶 It's very well researched but it's the stories and vulnerability of the author that puts this ahead of other books on trauma.

So grateful, from someone with CPTSD

I was very lucky that I knew as a child that what I was going through wasn't normal. I had incredible teachers and a school counsellor that taught me adults could be trusted. Still had to endure my childhood as it was though, and have spent most of my life learning how to manage my triggers and fighting my unhealthy coping mechanisms.

I listened to the body keeps the score a few years ago, which is clearly written for people who treat people like me. I learned a lot, but it made me feel like I'd always be broken. I mean it says as much in the book. That left a grey cloud over my head for a while and I avoided picking up books on mental health for a long time. I am so glad I chose to listen to this one, and grateful to Charlie for sharing her experience and her journey to be more healthy. To hear from someone who's actually gone through it, and is speaking to you from a survivor's perspective. It's exactly the companion book I needed right now. Even though I know what's going on with me, you sometimes need a reminder and someone to explain and validate what you're going through isn't your fault. Having a wellness plan, and knowing I'm not alone, having Charlie's voice in your ears, is more powerful than I ever realised.

There will be more flowers. Thank you Charlie.
