About this listen

Welcome to the Custer Hill Club - a men's club set in an Adirondack hunting lodge whose members include some of America's most powerful business leaders, military men, and government officials. Ostensibly, the club is a place to relax with old friends. But one fall weekend, the club's Executive Board gathers to talk about 9/11 - and to finalize a retaliation plan, known only by its code name: WILD FIRE.

That same weekend, a member of the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force is found dead. Soon it's up to Detective John Corey and his wife, FBI Agent Kate Mayfield, to unravel a plot that starts with the Custer Hill Club and ends with American cities locked in the crosshairs of a nuclear device. Only Corey and Mayfield can stop the button from being pushed, and global chaos from being unleashed.

Wild Fire

I've read a lot of Nelson DeMille and always enjoy the tongue in cheek black humour. This novel lapses into the slightly unbelievable but overall another good read with the feisty character of the NY cop as enjoyable as ever! My main criticism would be that the novel wasn't long enough - I could have listened to it for much longer. Perhaps the plot would have benfited from being filled out a lot more, but who am i to second guess a great author! A great read/ listen!

Good story line

Enjoyed this story as it could be partly true. We do not know what is going on. What fanatics do in the name of how they believe the world should be. Scary but the good guys are out there protecting us.

Chunks missing from this Audible book!!!

This Audible version has so much missing from it! I happened to have the paperback given to me as I started listening and thought I’d use both. I love reading real books but since not always practical, I listen too. On having a really hard time trying to collate the two I realised that in every chapter so far there are big sections just left out of the Audible book! Very disappointed!

brutally edited

I've listened to the unabridged version on cassette, and this version is abridged very very badly. it seems to enter the story halfway through. avoid
