Summary

Star quarterback Marcus Kingston lives and breathes football. He's trusted his abilities and instincts to get him this far, but an injury last season nearly ended his career. When his coaches want him to wear biofeedback technology to analyze his game, Marcus thinks the idea is ridiculous. Plus, the mousy scientist behind the project knows nothing about sports, and she quickly gets under his skin. But with another QB waiting on the sidelines, Marcus can either agree to participate, or be benched - permanently.

Scientist Clare Wynifred values intellect above most things. With her brain constantly working, she has little interest in her appearance and zero interest in sports. She never imagined her wearable tech being used to improve someone's game, but its success with the team could get her a military contract. Clare may be too late to save her brother, but her technology could save the lives of countless soldiers. She just has to make it work with the stubborn quarterback, and she'll be one step closer to her goal. Marcus and Clare butt heads at first, but their mutual attraction quickly grows. And yet, with everything to lose, it's easy to ignore that together they might be able to go the distance.

Wired

I really enjoyed this sweet sports romance story. The plot was interesting, the characters were down to earth, compassionate and very likable, and it was a great way to spend an afternoon. I loved that Clare was honoring her brother and working to save the lives of other soldiers. Rebecca Roberts did a great job bringing this story to life.

Heart

It was hard to relate to the heroine, but she was a strong woman which helped. There was a steamy scene but the story is all heart. Lots of emotions from their separate pasts, each other and their current predicament. The ending was good and left a completed feeling. The narrator was great with her characters voices, but a little drab when reading the other parts.

Claire and Marcus!

Marcus is a professional quarterback who as he begins to get older finds it more difficult to heal from injuries. He is determined to prove to his team that he is still capable of leading his team as football is his life. Claire has suffered a terrible loss which has caused her to create some technology that she wants to be used in the military but first it needs to be tested and her first subject is Marcus.

Marcus doesn’t want anything to do with Claire or her technology but he doesn’t have a choice. As they spend time together it becomes much more than a job but once all the truths are revealed will they be able to find their way back to each other?

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought that the narrator did a great job on mastering the differences between the male and female voices so you knew whose point of view it was.

Feel good book.

This is one of those books that makes you smile. It's a sweet and sexy feel good book.

Marcus Kingston is a star quarterback, plays for the NFL and his life revolves around football. There are threats of him being sidelined and Claire Wynifred is just getting in his way of keeping his starting position.

Claire Wynifred is a scientist with a PhD, after her brother's death she is determined to make her wearable technology work for the military. That is her goal, find ways to bring soldiers home safely. Marcus is the start of that, he is her key to success.. if only he would quit fighting her technology and work with her.

When Marcus and Claire first meet it's obvious that he feels inconvenienced by her and her technology. He doesn't want to have all the sensors and wires in his uniform. It just gets in his way and distracts him. Once Marcus starts cooperating and working with Claire, you can see the wheels turning and you can see him grow as a player. The sparks are slowing building but Claire is determined to make her technology work so she can avenge her brother's death in her own way. Give her a slight relieve from all her grief she is still feeling.

I loved watching the transformation Marcus went through throughout the book and his and Claire's relationship was so sweet and loving I was just smiling all throughout the book. No spoilers here but the part with him and the glasses was just so adorable, I cried. I loved it.

An unlikely romance between a science geek and a NFL star

I really enjoyed this story about Claire and Marcus, two completely opposite individuals who were forced to work together and found love along the way. The book was the perfect length for the story but I wouldn’t have minded if it was a bit longer, diving more into Marcus’ past.

I thought the story was intriguing and sweet. Marcus’ disability really brought a unique story line to the table and helped to make him a bit more relatable as a person vs his QB star status. Claire was quirky and different. She was so intelligent and confident. I loved everything about her character.

The only aspect of this audio I didn’t care for was the narrator’s execution of the male characters. Something just always sounded off. The accents were not well executed and became distracting. This book would have been better with dual narration.
