Very informative, powerful message
This book collects a lifetime of the author's experience working as an environmentalist on many large scale engineering and conservation projects around the world. It provides a satisfying dose of conservation science and history through well written prose and an engaging narrative. We learn of some truly terrifying destruction but many practical solutions offered and certainly cause for hope. Ric Jerrom is a great narrator

Sobering but hopeful.
I found this book very interesting. It's definitely not a fun read but it gives a lot of insight into various practices around the world (forestry, water, fishing, palm oil, ect) and examples of how things can be improved. I'd recommend this to anyone who's interested in how we can make our world more sustainable.

Great personal account of conservation topics
Valuable information from a person who has been there and done that. A wealth of personal experience excellently narrated on a worthy topic
