About this listen
From Lane Moore, the critically acclaimed author of How to Be Alone, comes an intimate yet achingly funny guide on how to make meaningful friendships as an adult.
Like many people navigating adulthood, Lane Moore thought she would have friends by now.
Movies, books, and TV shows tell us we should’ve already found our people by the time we’re adults, or there must be something wrong with us. But where do you find these close friends once you’ve left high school or college? Is it even possible?
You Will Find Your People is the groundbreaking guide to making—and keeping—the friends we’ve all been desperately waiting for. In this unflinching, poignant follow-up to her book Ho w to Be Alone, Moore shows us how to make real friends as an adult, cope with friend breakups, navigate friendships with coworkers, roommates, and family members, and provides real tools on how to create healthy boundaries with friends to deepen your bonds. Through hilarious personal anecdotes and hard-won wisdom, Moore teaches us how to finally work through our fears and past hurts to bravely cultivate and maintain the lifelong friendships we deserve.

Illuminating, but not instructive
I analysed the first few chapters with my therapist. It was very illuminating. I was really looking for more practical help, but I enjoyed the read.

She becomes your best friend real fast.
After only just finishing “how to be alone” I was so happy to find out there was a sequel right around the corner. How to be alone I have reread 3 times in the space of 2 months. Lane gets us in a way our brains try to make us think we might be crazy. She speaks to the parts of us nobody has ever understood. She speaks to us. Promise I’m not a cult leader for her I’m just very happy about finding her. I suggest the audio books for walks because I am 27lbs down from soaking up this content. And the physical books to be used as diaries. I’m not usually a reviewer (at least not for anything good) so please believe me. And lane if you read this… you are magic.

strange hybrid of manual and reminiscences
I struggled to finish this one - it feels like an analysis of friendship with anecdotes thrown in, but with very limited "how to find your people" help!

Very pleasant listen but not helpful
The focus of this book seems to be a lot more about setting personal boundaries within existing friendships and is very relatable in tone but has pretty much no advice on meeting people and how to make connections, which is what I downloaded it for.
Still very fun to listen to and the author's narrating is great
