Summary

‘I know you, don’t I?’

Five words - that’s all it takes to plunge Mike Wingate and his family into mortal danger. Mike doesn’t recognise the crippled stranger who approaches him at a party...but the stranger seems to know all about him.

What has Mike done? Do they have the wrong man? Overnight, the threats become attacks, and Mike, his wife, and their young daughter learn they aren’t safe anywhere - especially not their own home. He doesn’t know who they are. He doesn’t know what they want. But there’s no time to figure it out - because his enemies have killed before, and he’s next.

A good listen

This is an enjoyable book, the story unfolds nicely, and a good opening will ensure you stay to find out what happened. That, along with a few good surprises along the way has made this audio book worth the purchase price. This is the second Gregg Hurwitz book I hav brought, and I do believe I shall be buying a few more soon

Slow to start but worth the wait

Having listened to the brilliant Orphan X trilogy, I was surprised at the slower pace to this story. However it did pick up and by the end I was hooked. Well worth a listen.

Another great story, full of great characters

Where does You're Next rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is in the top ten. I really like the way that Gregg Hurwitz writes. The characters have depth and detail.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Pretty much any scene where Shep is being questioned......What?

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I got invested in this family and their struggle. The art of a good writer is to draw you in, make you identify and care for the characters. This is something that Hurwitz achieves masterfully in this story.

Any additional comments?

Loved this book. I'm loving all of the books from Gregg Hurwitz, particularly the Orphan X series.

Took a while to get into it but it’s worth it

I’m a huge fan of this author and was surprised that I couldn’t get into it.

It took me several attempts at starting this book before finally persevering and I’m glad I did.

The first couple of hours of listening felt like an age but the scene setting is really relevant to the whole story. By the time I’d got to the middle section of the book I was absolutely hooked and listened to it every spare moment I had.

The ending was very good but would have wanted one more chapter, paragraph even, to know the next stage of the characters life .... but maybe we don’t need to know.

Brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyable. Superb Narrator.

Great story, narrated with such expertise. The baddies were portrayed with such menace! Can't wait to listen to his next novel.

Great story with an abrupt ending

The story was amazing, it did seem to end quite abruptly though. It left some unanswered questions but not in a cliffhanger kind of way, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it from start to finish
