Summary
The Times bestseller Yours Cheerfully is the charming and hilarious tonic we’ve all been waiting for.
London, September, 1941. Following the departure of the formidable Editor, Mrs Henrietta Bird, things are looking up for Emmeline Lake at Woman's Friend magazine. And while the war rages on, Emmy is even firmer that she must do all she can to help on the Home Front. As ever, she is determined to Make a Go of It. When the Ministry of Information calls on Britain's women's magazines to help recruit female supporters to the war effort, Emmy is thrilled to be asked to help.
But when she and best friend Bunty meet a young woman who shows them the real challenges that women war workers face, Emmy must tackle a life changing dilemma: should she carry out her duty or stand by her friends?

Yours Cheerfully
A very successful sequel although it can be read independently of the first book, Dear Mrs Bird.
I really enjoyed listening to this. The characters are relatable and you get a feeling of camaraderie, war time spirit and the devotion of good friendships.
Highly recommended.

bloody loved it
Just like Dear Mrs Bird, this is totally jolly hockey sticks but with such substance. The characters show immense resilience and caring and I love the determination, strength and overall good natured positivity.

Lovely sequel!
This is a continuation of the delightful Dear Mrs Bird which continues to recreate life in WW2 from the perspective of a young woman journalist. It is a lovely mixture of war story, social commentary and romance. The dialogue and manners reflect the times beautifully. It finishes in Christmas 1942, so there MUST be a third book on the way - I do hope so!

Good
I did enjoy this book but thought the first book was more interesting. The narrator was excellent and brought the characters to life. I do hope there's a third book in this series

A great wartime read!
I’d read ‘Dear Mrs. Bird’ and had enjoyed it so much that I decided to listen to the next book in the series to find out what happened to the characters. It was a delightful sequel, the characters blossomed and their lives became even more interesting. The author makes wartime Britain come alive! I’m looking forward to listening to the next book in the series!
