About this listen
Capturing the "lively sensuality" (Library Journal) of the passion-filled, near-future space colony of St. Helen's, the wildly popular alter ego of best-selling author Jayne Ann Krentz delivers "delectably entertaining paranormal romantic suspense" (Booklist).
Ever since a false tabloid story ruined her reputation and her interior design business, Zinnia Spring has been labeled the "Scarlet Lady" of St. Helen's. Now, headstrong Zinnia makes a living using her psychic abilities - a highly prized skill that attracts the attention of another planetary outcast, Nick Chastain. The rough-edged casino owner craves what he doesn't have-respectability - and he enlists Zinnia to help find his father's journal and dig up answers to his own mysterious past. Zinnia doesn't have to be psychic to know what else Nick wants; soon they're reaching the electrifying heights of ecstasy - and danger. For when a ruthless killer crosses their search, it will take everything in their power to keep their feet on terra firma and survive a deadly trap.

Too similar to first book
Enjoyed the first book and couldn't wait to listen to this. Wasn't bad but there is a lot of similarities to the first one and it felt like it was more or less the same story with different characters and a slightly different plot.

A nice book, that leaves a nice feeling.
We're back on St Helen's and this time the main characters are Zinnia and Nick. I particularly liked Nick, he was the sort of man that appeals to me. Confident and careless of others opinions of him. I loved his tacky decor, his authority and total belief that he could buy himself respectability. As usual with Ms Krentz there is a mystery to resolve, threats and danger, and a wide cast of extras, including some from the previous book in this mini-series. The writer has really given a sense of time and place and as usual the characters are well rounded, with individual personalities whilst not getting away from the basic romantic tropes. Light and easy to read, great for when you want to lose yourself for a few hours and don't want to have to concentrate too much. A nice book, that leaves a nice feeling.

I listened to the audible version of this book and enjoyed it. It is easy to see that she reuses many of her ideas later on in other books but still a light and entertaining listen.
