  • I thought I always struggled with my weight. Looking at pictures from high school, I’m not sure that I really did.

    In my 20s and 30s, I became the classic yo-yo dieter. I tried all the diets. They usually worked, but the weight came back when I went back to normal eating.

    After I turned 40, things really changed. I was eating and exercising the same, but the weight was really coming on. The diets I tried in my 20s and 30s no longer worked. The 30, 60 and 90 day workout routines that had worked for me in the past stopped working.

    I gave up. I decided. This must be what being 40 is like. I vowed to just love myself and never step on a scale again. For the next 3 years, I didn’t. Well I accidentally saw my weight at the doctor. It was not a healthy weight for me.
