Excellent!

Strong positive bias here!
I already know and love many of the comedians on this series. I can see how some people might be uncomfortable with the purposefully shocking material in the sex and toilet humour categories but there is a fair warning at the start of each episode.
Jam packing the funniest and wittiest bits by the best acts in the Fringe is a delight!
I loved the Brexit bit by Reginald D Hunter so much I had to write it down and share with fellow standup connoisseurs.
For the uninitiated he is an African-American stand up comedian who's lived in the UK for more than 20 years.
"My dad is 99. He is a healthy dude.
He said to me: oh boy, I've been looking at TV and stuff. What is a Brexit?
I said, Daddy, oh, who are you asking … I said, think of it like this: Lets say one day you woke up and you realised that too many people had access to your life, too many people had access to your time, your personal space and maybe even your wallet. And you decided that the best way to stop all of this was to set your balls on fire."

Free comedy, what's not to like?

I was fortunate enough to attend one of the recordings so it's great to be able to listen to the others. Thanks Audible!

Some good comedians and some meh

Good laughs but feel like I most comedians theses days are just talking about sex or race... But they will make some great jokes not about those things the rest of there sets are abit cramped by the limits of there lack of imagination. Great audio and very professionally recorded love the fringe!!!

Fringe Benefits!

Both the hosts and the comics vary in quality and it's probably best not to binge on it because a lot of the material is fairly formulaic. I really enjoy stand-up but I think that the law of diminishing returns applies quite strongly. It's Fringe material, probably much better consumed live than in a recorded show but it still made me laugh a lot in places with quality performances from the likes of Reginald D Hunter included. Possibly the most memorable though was a performance by Rosie Jones, an amazing lady who suffers from cerebral palsy and has the gumption to get up and do comedy when most people, myself included, would never dare to get behind such a microphone.

Taken in small doses of an episode at a time this should raise a few chuckles. Of course much of the content is shall we say "grown-up" and the language as you are warned at the start of each episode is shall we say brightly hued so if either of those two put you off then this is best avoided. For me being able to listen to some fairly decent quality stand-up for free is definitely a benefit of being an Audible member.

4 out of 5

A great freebie this: some absolute gems, the occasional train wreck, but the majority I have to say is rather average. I wouldn't have listened to any of this material if it weren't for Audible.

hit & miss

it's free, so big plus for that but some of the acts are terrible! There is the odd gem, so worth a listen but the price of this is right

When did stand up get so poor?

If ypu want to listen to bulger women swearing and babbling on about their private parts and how big their latest boyfriend's c*** is then download and enjoy. Otherwise avoid. Totally unfunny. I tried 3 different episodes and gave up....

Stand up needs to take a hard look at itself if this is the best the fringe has. Come back Michael McIntyre all is forgiven...almost...
