When people heard Amazon was adapting Garth Ennis's poor-taste satire of superhero comics, many were perplexed and doubtful. The original book was so mean-spirited and callous on its own, how could that translate to a successful TV series? The answer is a LOT of reworking, retooling, and a whopping plate of gumption. The show's been a massive success to mostly widespread acclaim, but over the years, people have critiqued it for running out of steam and going in circles. Is that truly the case? While Alec went in a more 00's TV-14 teen drama route, Brian's taking a stab at his own take on the wall-crawler in an animated kids' show format, a la The Animated Series and Spectacular.
