Phil Harding and Dr Jennifer Wexler explore the lunar-like landscape of Grime’s Graves and descent down into the deepest excavated pit on site, known as Greenwell’s pit.
Along the way they meet geology and natural heritage experts, including Tim Lynch from English Heritage, Peter Squirrel and Rob Hunt from Needham Chalks Flint, and Kyle Jennings from Norfolk Wildlife Trust. They explore the process of flint mining and knapping, and learn more about how the landscape was formed, the unique wildlife that can be found here and why the site has personal significance for Phil.
