  • The Nutrition Knowledge We Really Need, No Diets, Just the Basics with Katie Hammill, RD
    Nov 22 2024

Today we are joined by Katie Hammil, Katie is a registered dietitian, her dietary philosophy is steeped in science and years of education and learning through her own experiences and those of her clients. She truly believes that there is no one universal style of eating that we should all follow. She wants to help people become more confident in how to feed themselves and their families.

Katie’s here to help us break down food, how we can adopt a simplified approach to how we eat to give our body more of what it needs rather than taking a restrictive approach that makes us feel like we need to eliminate. She’ll talk with us about not cutting foods out, rather starting where something is missing. Katie has followed all of the trends and has watched the research unfold to show what is and isn’t best for all of our bodies. And I’ll give a little spoiler alert here: In the long run, eating in the basic way she is going to outline is our best method for health and longevity. We’ll talk about to let go of the judgments of what we don’t know about this stuff and how to stop judging foods, to instead slowly build an understanding of what works for our body… Our body that is different than our bestfriends, different than our husbands, our daughters and what that means for us in meeting our own needs.

You can find Katie on Instagram @katiehammillnutrition and her website katiehammillnutrition.com

  • What we were and were not taught about nutrition and how to eat
    Nov 20 2024

Today, we are talking about how we eat… About the nutrition education most of us have never gotten. The confusing messages we’ve received and where to go from here. Did you know that most people aren't able to accurately assess the quality of their diet? That most people think they are doing great when that might not be the case? So let's see if we can close the gap. Later this week we’ll have Katie Hammill on to talk to us about nutrition. What we need to know, how to find our way through the maze of information out there to get to what’s really important and at the end of the day, to feel good about food.

In this episode Ashley will walk you through questions to assess where you are when it comes to nutrition. Grab a pen and paper:)
