    Jul 15 2021

Born in Dublin, Wally Page is a singer and songwriter whose songs are characterized by articulate lyrics and concise intelligent use of imagery and language. Well traveled and schooled in a myriad of contemporary musical styles from Country, Calypso, Eastern and Rock and his Celtic roots. Wally Page's music covers a wide range of influences. With his articulate, passionate songwriting style and delivery. He writes songs that cover every human condition under the sun, from love to hate, and from peace to war. Songs of love, concern, social comment, and biting satire flow from his lips-each one finely wrought, lyrical, and passionate. His venom is directed at those who have no respect for human life, be they South American dictators or Serbian Militia, while his tender side is seen in his sensitive love songs, like his tribute to Kurt Cobain, "Song for KC" and "When love comes your way".

Wally Page's songs have reached ears all over the universe through recordings by Christy Moore and Eleanor Shanley. He has also penned several songs with Christy Moore including "Johnny Connors" and 'Wise, and Holy Woman'. 'Smoke and Strong Whiskey' 'Soldier Boys' 'Biko Drum', 'All for the Roses' and 'So Do I' have been recorded by Christy Moore. 'This is the Day' the title track from Christy Moore's album takes its name from a line in Wally's song 'So Do I' inspired by the great poet Thomas Hardy.

  • George Murphy in conversation with Lar Flynn for Irish Music Magazine
    Mar 25 2021
George Murphy is an Irish singer songwriter who hails from the Dublin suburb of Beaumount.  He exploded onto the Irish music scene after his memorable appearances on the RTE Television show “You’re a Star”. Just out of secondary school at the age of 17 he very quickly took over the Irish music scene. He signed to Sony Ireland and his debut album ‘Dreamed A Dream’ went to No.1 in the Irish charts. The album eventually went on to gain triple Platinum status. George had made a big impact with insiders on the Irish Music scene, Phil Coulter was quoted as saying that George “Is the most exciting vocal find in Ireland”, The late Ronnie Drew was quoted saying “A voice beyond his years”, Peggy Seeger was quoted saying “A very honest approach to the songs, kept them true to their Origin” and Hotpress magazine described him at the time as “A serious contender”. And now....something new for George..The Rising Sons.   "In an industry full of ups and downs sometimes you have to follow your heart and so that's what I am doing"   "The Rising Sons is made up of friends, neighbours and family all from the local area and all who met at a session for the love of playing music. To take the session to the main stages around Ireland and release new singles and albums with a group of friends is my proudest achievement in music to date"   2020 has been a difficult year for all musicians but George and the Sons turned a negative into a positive and released their first Dublin Ballad entitled 'Dublin Inspires' as well as a song for all the publicans and musicians out there who lost their livelihoods hoods over night 'Give Us Our Good Times Back'. Both songs have been very well received and the band made videos for both capturing the beauty and history of Dublin in the first and the pain and frustration of Lockdown in the second
