Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast

By: Look Out Sir!
  • Summary

  • At its most basic, the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" is a fortnightly Games Workshop podcast where two long-time friends who have collectively spent far too much of their limited time on this planet collecting, painting, playing small toy soldiers get together over the internet and talk about their crippling addiction to Warhammer and Warhammer Accessories. So, if that sounds like something you might be into, why not give it a listen? You never know, it might just become your favourite podcast. You'll never know for sure until you try.

Still reading? Want to know more about the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast"? Um... alright... what else can we tell you.

Listeners of the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" consistently tell hosts Dan and Phil that they like the fact it's two mates talking about their shared fondness of Warhammer. They say it's like being down the pub with your pals talking about something you're collectively passionate about. They also like how Dan and Phil represent a more general hobbyist vibe. Dan's a bit more try-hard at gaming than Phil and Phil spend more time painting stuff then Dan does. It's a good mixture.

Parents like to listen along with their children as the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" is one of the few out there where the hosts are seemingly able to not consistently F and Jeff every few words. Which won't seem that impressive until you meet and chat with Dan in person somewhere. He swears like a sailor the naughty boy. But when it comes to the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast", the hosts are often cheeky, but never blue.

"Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" is advertising free. Dan and Phil decided a few episodes in that they can't be doing with advertising and that they're no good at talking to guests who are only really appearing on the Pod to plug something to the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" audience. Bar the bit of blurb in the 5 Star Review Section where we tell you about our own Merchandise and Patreon, you won't be getting advertised to.

Please note this statement is true on the assertion we haven't accidentally added some copyright claimed material to the Pod which has resulted in that materials rightful owner claiming ad revenue via adding ads to said Pod. Also... we might change our minds about this at some point in the future. But if and when we do, you shouldn't be seeing this message.

I can only assume that if you're reading this bit, you either really like the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast" or you really dislike the "Look Out, Sir! Warhammer Podcast". Hopeful it's the former of the two options, and assuming it is, thanks for supporting the Pod! We hugely appreciate your support and hope that you continue to enjoy the show.

Dan is the more competitive minded of the show hosts. Noting that he used to be better at 40k, but these days he’s bang average. But he is one of the few people whose won the prestigious, Warhammer World “Knight of the Inner Circle” award. A try hard gamer with a heart of gold who is as humble as he is handsome. ;)

Philip is better known as a hobbyist, painter, converter, rather than a gamer. And when Phil is not beavering away on his various projects, he is making/selling his own resin upgrade kits. Philip’s Death Korps of Krieg army has won several Best Army/Painting Awards over the years... take a drink every time they are mentioned! He is presently working on a Minotaurs Space Marine army and an ever-growing Inquisition collection.

Fireside 40k

Dan and Phil invite you into their private hobby discussions and walk through the world of hobbying. Easy listening honest conversations with two Veterens of kitbash collection and competition.

100% recommended. @Character_Building89

Not 100 percent shit!

An entertaining mild mannered piece of awesomness. I listen when im out trekking up mountains or wild camping, i no longer play the game but these guys make keeping up with the rules and changes simple. They somehow capture that typical British humor perfectly. Praise to both of you well done chaps!

A pod in a crows manner.

A podcast that I listen to without fail every week. featuring a man who is in mild denial about his meta chasing ways (Dan) and another who enjoys re sculpting pigs, gun barrels and mordheim rat people. between 4 hour codex reviews with such highs as the yellowy gold stratagems and the declaration of very OP mechanics as "alright" and yearly quizzes, it's a great listen. keep it up 5 stars. LOOK OUT SIR! INCOMING PODCAST OF 5 STAR QUALITY

long time listener, first time reviewer... the balance of the competitively 'humble' yet very easily excitable Dan and the more reserved and 'posh(ish)' Phil makes for a podcast of epic 40k proportion (and I don't just mean the run times). I have lost hours upon hours of my life, listening to these two passionately talk hobby and I don't regret it for a second. I always look forward to a new episode even if it does go off topic and it will (a lot) its all part of the charm. the perfect mixture of banter between good mates and all the 40k goodness all wrapped up in a package that hits the spot every episode ..

Five Star Review

I find the long rambling conversations between Dan and Phil thoroughly enjoyable. The two of you have become a friendly companion on many a long drive. This is high praise considering I don't give much of a toss for rules analysis, meta or lore of 40k. In summary; a great podcast, would highly recommend, 4 out of 5 stars.

In addition I would like to take you up on the offer to have my work critiqued @biandelow
The hobby community on instagram is a lovely and supportive environment but sometimes all you really need is a brutally honest assessment that the hours of hard work you've put into your hobby hasn't been worth the effort.

Keep up the good work,

Tom

AMAZING AND WONDERFUL

Well what can I say about this podcast!! Dan and Phil are wonderful hosts and have great knowledge about all things warhammer 40k. I’ve spent many commutes, building and painting sessions listening to them. I do however hate codex reviews cause I always then want to do that Army after listening to that episode. Keep up the good work! @pete_builds_stuff

A genuine audio pleasure for this casual wargamer

With the internet swamped with leak news and meta hot takes, it's great to regularly come listen to Dan and Phil gives us their honest first impressions of new materials, and more recently getting back to talking about events attend etc

A great way to spend a few hours hobbying whilst also keeping up with new releases, not delivered through a bleeding eye competitive mindset.

Keep up the great work

AMAZING 100% recomend

Dan and Phil, WOW! Where do I begin, two amazing people who love this hobby even if the codex reviews are slowly killing them, every day in work I listen to them they are like two friends I’ve never met hopefully in warhammer fest I’ll get the chance to meet them in person! They are both so fun to listen too and their insides into the hobby are both useful, entertaining and intellectual!

Thank you for everything you do your allways there to keep my hobby alive even through difficult times!
Thank you Adam

Good Company

An odd little beastie this one. Long (really long), rambling, informative and fun nonsense. And I use "nonsense" in the best possible way as this show has kept me company for many hours while trucking around the uk's highways. I've actually only re-entered the Warhammer World in January 2022 after a 25 year hiatus, and have listened to the entire back-catalogue since then 😁 Bravo gents.
