What if we could find relentless joy and hope even in the face of profound loss? This episode is a heartfelt tribute to Rebecca, the inspiring host of "Love Is Not Dead Just My Husband," who recently passed away from cancer. Join me, Tiphany Kane, Rebecca's podcast coach and dear friend, as I share cherished memories and the profound impact she had on my life. Together with some of her podcast friends, we remember Rebecca not just as a vibrant force in the podcasting world, but as a person who made everyone feel like her best friend. Our journey from the launch of her podcast to forming a sister-like bond is filled with laughter, warmth, and a celebration of her vibrant spirit, which was beautifully reflected in her Celebration of Life.

Rebecca's life was a testament to living boldly, a lesson she imparted to us through her incredible journey. Despite the challenges she faced, she radiated positivity and embraced life with an infectious vigor. Her presence at events like Podfest and her ability to connect with others deeply left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. We reflect on how she transformed personal battles into a source of inspiration, teaching us to seek joy in the small things and support each other. This episode is about keeping her spirit alive, honoring her legacy, and carrying forward her message of love and connection that endures, reminding us all that love is never truly lost.

  • Are You Widow Strong?
    Oct 21 2024

In this episode, I talk about the complexity of the phrase "You are so strong" and the varied emotions it can evoke for Widows navigating the grieving process. Initially, it can feel more like a burden than a compliment, especially in the acute stages of grief.

It's easy to interpret these words as pressure to hide our vulnerability and minimize our pain for the sake of others. However, as time passes, we may come to see this phrase in a more positive light.

It's not about pretending to be strong; it's about recognizing the courage it takes to face each day without our loved ones. Despite the tears shed and the struggles faced, every step forward is a testament to our strength and resilience.

So, while we may not always feel strong, we can acknowledge the bravery it takes to keep moving forward on our widow journey. And one day, we may even see ourselves as strong as others perceive us to be.

As always, Widow Your Way ❤️

  • The Widow Journey is About You and Not Your Dead Husband
    Apr 29 2024

Have you ever felt like the weight of grief could define your entire existence?

In this episode, I'm here to shake things up and challenge the traditional narrative of widowhood. It's time to reclaim the journey as our own and recognize that being a widow doesn't solely revolve around our deceased husbands. Yes, we honor their memory, but we also have a life to live.

Widowhood is a chapter, not the entire book of your life and being a widow doesn't define us; it propels us forward into the next chapter of our lives. We must remember that our happiness matters too, and our late husbands would want us to find joy and purpose. It's about shifting our perspective on grief and embracing the opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

So, let's not just survive but thrive and truly live with intention as you Widow Your Way ❤️

  • Season 5 Trailer: How To Widow Your Way
    Apr 1 2024

The microphone feels different this time! As I struggle with my ongoing battle against cancer, I'm reflecting on this podcast and direction it's taking. I feel the need now more than ever to be more clear with my message and purpose.

So far Widow Your Way has been more of an expression or feeling of empowerment for Widows, but not put into clear words.

I have never wanted to be someone who gives Widow advice. There are no step-by-step guides here, no one-size-fits-all remedies—just the honest, often messy, chronicles of learning to trust myself on this Widow Journey.

I love the quote by Brene Brown, "One day you will tell your story of how you've overcome what you're going through now, and it will become part of someone else's survival guide"

This podcast has always been meant as a guide for you to discover your own unique path to living happily even after. Widow your way is about trusting yourself and making your own rules.

Your Widow Journey. Your Loss. Your Life. Your Purpose.

  • The Balancing Act of Grief and Gratitude
    Feb 27 2024

Growing up, I struggled with the concept of gratitude, feeling pressure to be thankful without truly understanding its depth. As a widow, this struggle intensified when faced with societal pressure to be grateful.

I share personal experiences of downplaying my grief and masking my emotions to appear strong. This is a common struggle among widows – feeling the need to put on a facade while silently battling with our grief.

Reflecting on my journey, I realized the importance of finding balance between honoring grief and embracing gratitude. It's about allowing both to coexist. True gratitude, I've learned, comes from acknowledging and feeling all emotions, even the painful ones.

This episode was inspired by my recent guest appearance on the Hilistically Speaking Podcast with Hilary Russo, who had me opening up in unexpected ways.
