  • #154 Putting Down a Dream, Picking up a Passion; Hannibal Navies; Retired NFL Player, VP with United Charitable
    Sep 27 2024

Imagine how you feel if you were ever told...

"You are no longer as remarkable as you once were."

"Perhaps you should try something else."

"Other people are now better than you."

    Personally, I've been there.

Today's podcast guest, Hannibal Navies has also been there. After almost 10 years in the NFL, he realized there were other options for him to "contribute to others" that didn't require him being on the field.

He always knew he has a passion to help others and started a foundation when he was an active player. This allowed him to continue to pursue his passion and ONE OF HIS DREAMS. This gentleman has many, and they all include "doing" for others and giving back.

He now serves as the Vice President of Development for Athletes Charitable (https://athletescharitable.org/)

(part of United Charitable; https://unitedcharitable.org) in which he is helping athletes develop philanthropic opportunities to assist others in need.

The live event interview focuses on philanthropy and how United Charitable helps individuals and businesses to give back easily. Hannibal shares his journey from an NFL career to founding the 360 Sports Academy Foundation, emphasizing the importance of leadership through athletics and helping young student athletes navigate life's challenges.

    The discussion encourages viewers to chase their passions, try new things, and use their platforms for positive impact. Lessons include the value of giving back, finding personal fulfillment through helping others, and overcoming the fears associated with transitioning from one career to another. More about Hannibal Navies;

Hannibal Navies is leading the charge at Athletes Charitable as Vice President of Development. Hannibal is a 9-year NFL Veteran, social entrepreneur, influencer, and founder of 360 Sports Academy and the Hannibal Navies Foundation. In addition to being part of the brotherhood of the NFL, Hannibal is passionate about philanthropy and social good efforts that create meaningful change in disenfranchised communities.

His education includes an executive MBA and entrepreneurial certification from Harvard University. He most recently served as the Director of Engagement & Outreach for The Trust, powered by the National Football Players Association. This effort provides transitioning NFL players with the support and resources needed to ensure their success outside the game of football.

His leadership in this work reflects the dedication that Hannibal has for empowering professional athletes and his desire to see them thrive beyond their sports careers. Hannibal has made an impact on the lives of several professional athletes through his work, personal influence and mentorship. His extensive experience as an entrepreneur, public speaker and philanthropist have groomed and qualified him for his role at Athletes Charitable.

  • #153 “Conversations not Campaigns, Socially Caring, and Middle Finger Inspiration”: Brooke Sellas, Founder- B Squared Media
    Sep 20 2024

In this live edition of 'Most People Don't, But You Do,' I welcome Brooke Sellas, founder and CEO of B Squared Media and author of 'Conversations That Connect.'

We met at a KINDNESS CONFERENCE and I found her to be indeed not only KIND, but exceptionally smart and driven.

I did not know the term "social care" before I spoke with her. Essentially, imagine how much better you feel when you share feedback, complaints, inquiries online with a brand and they actually have a CONVERSATION back with you. This is the essence of B Squared Media; employing a team that can not only create your social media strategy, but also respond as human beings in a way that is meaningful and caring.

Social Care. They are the BEST in the INDUSTRY.

Brooke discusses her journey from luxury real estate to founding her own company, driven by her commitments to kindness, social media strategy, and customer care.

We dive into her experience with social media at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the importance of customer interaction through social media, and the innovative approach of social care.

Brooke also shares insights on the impact of AI and the concept of building AI doppelgangers. The conversation highlights the significance of making people feel seen and valued, both in personal and business contexts.

    More about Brooke Sellas:

Brooke Sellas is shaping the future of digital marketing one conversation at a time. As an award-winning CEO, she's the visionary behind B Squared Media, a boutique digital marketing agency that's redefining 'social care' for industry giants like Brother International, Endless Pools, and BCU. Dive into her insights on the pages of her book, "Conversations That Connect," or from one of two digital marketing courses she teaches at the University of California, Irvine.
