  • Ask Me Anything - Transition, Music, Life
    Sep 14 2020

In this episode, I sat down and answered your questions. There were a lot of questions and I did my best to answer them all. Perhaps we will have a part two.

My transition will come with many ups, downs, twists and turns. I am grateful that you are coming along on this journey with me. Please note that not all trans folks are the same and this is my lens, my experience and my story.

If you have other trans folx in your life, perhaps this will shed some insight and create connection for some heart opening conversations.

If you find something insightful, please let me know and share with your friends.

    With love,

    Bodhi

  • #35 Motivational Mixdown - Work Life Harmony
    Aug 6 2019

We hear about this idea of work-life balance.

But it's kind of bullshit. It doesn't make sense.

Nothing in our lives can be exact. For example, this amount of work, this amount of play, this amount of relationship is not all equal in energy. It doesn't work that way. This is life. We're in fluid. We're in motion constantly.

I like the idea of work life harmony because we get to decide what things we're going to focus on and give our attention to then and now.

I want you to think of five areas in your life, for example recreation, relationships, work, creative output, and mindfulness, spirituality.

If none of those words light you up, remix them. Use this as a guidepost. Then I want you to think about how you can find more harmony in all of these areas.

Let me know which ones you want to add a little bit more volume too. Which one you're going to give more attention.

  • #34 Motivational Mixdown - The Ability to Respond
    Jun 11 2019

Quick motivational mixdown that I wanted to talk to you today about.

I had a great conversation in a class a few weeks ago. We were talking about this idea of being responsible and how that word can have so much weight, right?

    Responsibility.

And what I like to look at is what that word is. I like to break it down into how am I able to respond.

Responsibility, how am I able to respond?

We have these moments in our lives. We have these conversations that happened, we have work responsibilities, all of these things that are requesting our attention and a lot of times what can happen is we choose to react rather than to respond.

Over the next couple of weeks, I want you to pay attention to when somebody comes to you with something that might need feedback. Maybe something at work, a lover or relationship with your parents. Notice. Check in with yourself before you respond. I have a moment now to check, "Do I want to react to what they are saying or do I want to respond?"

Responsible, being able to respond without judgment, aggression, anger, defensiveness. That's what I want you to practice.

Just try it on everything that I bring to you. They're just merely clothes in the closet. Go to the closet and try this one on notice, are you normally in a place of reactivity or do you allow the space in between to really center yourself and then respond from a conscious space?

This is your motivation mixdown and homework. Let me know what you think.

  • #33 DJ Peter Napoli: All Things Life & Music
    May 21 2019

You may have heard Peter Napoli at one of his traveling BRÜT parties (NY, LA, SF and Chicago), where his pulsating beat reigns over packed dance floors and throngs of young men in gear.

While this nightlife attraction has been a mainstay for years, Peter’s love of music actually began far earlier, growing up in a family of musicians in the boroughs of New York City.

Rhythm was a constant in the Napoli household.

Peter’s dad is a well-known drummer and there was always a groove happening at home.

That early exposure to the relationship between kick-drumming and ass-shaking propelled Peter to find a career in music beginning in Mexico City in 2009.

Back home in NYC, the young firebrand honed his skills at Santos Party House, which escalated him to opportunities in Europe, North and South America.

As his sound evolved, Peter found inspiration in Deep House and Techno, but also the classic basslines of Frankie Knuckles and David Cole.

This diversity is on display at his legendary Burning Man sets, and now at Voyage.

In its latest iteration, Napoli’s sound is an evolution from the stagnant circuit scene of decades past, to a future built on an array of percussion and an inclusive cast of talent and performers.

Peter’s latest party brand, Voyage, is a newcomer to the scene. Its rhythm is the journey; a new venture for aficionados of House and Techno, and the Electronic music community.
