Meeting in Lancashire, the pair discuss the Scot’s reign of over 11 years as Blues boss as he steered them to nine top half finishes – including a club record fourth position in the Premier League in 2004/05 – feats that brought him a hat-trick of LMA Manager of the Year awards. Taking over a team that had finished in the top half just once in the first decade of the competition, a then 38-year-old Moyes arrived at Goodison Park in March 2002 and transformed a squad containing luminaries such as Paul Gascoigne and David Ginola into an upwardly mobile outfit with hungry young players.
