  • THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 8 features an excerpt of Carl's interviews with MARVIN GAYE, recorded in Los Angeles, January 1983.  Motown legend Marvin Gaye had been out of the mainstream living in Europe when he was courted by Larkin Arnold, an executive at Columbia Records, who is referred to several times during this interview. Marvin switched labels and recorded “Sexual Healing” which became the biggest hit of his long career.  This episode is an excerpt of a series of interviews Carl recorded with the music icon at his home in Compton, Los Angeles in January 1983, and Marvin was riding high and happy to talk about the magic and mystery of writing songs comparing it to being a painter. “I really wish I knew how it happens,” he said.
