    This week's show begins with interviews with Reporters Without Borders and the International Crisis Group, press reviews on Lebanon and Palestine, reports on the United Nations Pact for the Future and General Assembly, and demonstrations against war across Europe.

Thibaut Bruttin the General Director of Reporters Without Borders discusses the importance of the only network supplying footage from Palestine without being imbedded in the Israeli army. Then Mirav Zonzien from the International Crisis Group talks about Netanyahu's rejection of a ceasefire in the wars on Palestine and Lebanon. She also describes the probable outcome of an Israeli ground attack on Lebanon. From FRANCE- Press reviews from Tuesday and Wednesday on the war on Lebanon from both Israeli, Lebanese, and international media. Then a report on what Europeans think about another possible Trump presidency in the US. From JAPAN- Two reports from the gatherings at the United Nations- first the preliminary summit on a proposal called the Pact for the Future, which aims to rebuild trust among nations to move forward, and reforms to the make up of the Security Council. At the opening of the General Assembly Secretary-General Guterres criticized the level of impunity in the world, saying it is intolerable. From CUBA- Large scale demonstrations against the wars in the Middle East and their funding were held in major cities around the world last weekend. The Palestinian Minister of Health updated the numbers of medical workers killed and kidnapped in Palestine.

    This week's show begins with press reviews of the Israeli terror attacks in Lebanon, Elon Musk and X banned in Brazil, US military agitating China in the Taiwan Strait, and another setback in cleaning up the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Israel has not claimed the terror attack, but the international press does not doubt the source. Then on Wednesday thousands of walkie talkies exploded with more deaths, injuries and panic. France 24 Press Reviews are always a good insight into the response events have on various nations. So first we will hear the Wednesday press reviews from Lebanon, Israel, and some European papers on Tuesdays terror attack. Then press reviews from Thursday on the second wave of attacks From GERMANY- Janina Dill from the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law, and Armed Conflict discusses international laws applicable to the terror attacks in Lebanon. Meta, whose products include Facebook and Instagram, has issued a total ban on Russian state media outlets, claiming they were using deceptive tactics to carry out covert influence operations online. Elon Musk refused to remove threads from Twitter, now called X, that led to attacks on Brazilian citizens and law enforcement. This led to X being banned in Brazil, fines imposed, and now money being seized from bank accounts belonging to X and Starlink. Musk is supporting the far-right politician Bolsonaro who is leading protests in the country. From JAPAN- A US Navy aircraft flew through the Taiwan Strait creating tension with China- two German Naval ships passed through on Friday. The US says it may sell $200 million worth of military hardware to Taiwan. There was another failure in attempts to remove highly radioactive waste from the Fukushima nuclear power plant which melted down 13 years ago. China and Russia continue to ban seafood from Japan because of waste water being discharged from the facilities into the Pacific Ocean.

Two of those army reservists spoke to DW about what made them change their minds about the IDF actions in Gaza. Many Israelis consider them traitors and they may be charged in court with desertion. In Mexico outgoing President Obrador got a judicial reform passed that will end the appointment of judges by the legislators and have them chosen by popular vote in their regions- activists, mostly students, opposed to the measure stormed the Senate. From JAPAN- A super typhoon named Yagi hit Vietnam with severe damages. An update on the sale of US Steel to Japanese firm Nippon. Ukrainian drones hit a Russian ammunition depot which they allege contained North Korean missiles. The US alleges that Iran is supplying missiles to Russia which Iran strongly denies. Australian PM Albanese wants age limits imposed on youth using social media. An Israeli airstrike hit a designated evacuation zone in the Gaza Strip killing at least 40 people, mostly civilians. From CUBA- In Brazil, former President Bolsonaro rallied thousands to protest the nations ban on social media platform giant X, formerly Twitter. Venezuelan President Maduro said the people do not want more sanctions threatened by the US and called for a dialogue on preventing fascism. Am on this day piece on September 11th. In Britain, tens of thousands of citizens took to the streets to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a halt to weapon supplies to Israel. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Gaza are warning of widespread contamination on the roads from weapons.
