(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistani Christian mother sentenced to death On Wednesday, a Pakistani Christian mother of four children received the death sentence after a judge convicted her under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, reports Morning Star News. Shagufta Kiran, age 40, was convicted under Section 295-C of Pakistan’s widely condemned blasphemy laws for insulting Muhammad, the false prophet of Islam, which carries a mandatory death sentence. She was arrested in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency on July 29, 2021, for allegedly sharing blasphemous content in a WhatsApp group in September 2020. Her husband and two sons were also taken into custody during the raid but were later released. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Myanmar military has killed 5,000 civilians The United Nations released a report on Tuesday about human rights under Myanmar’s military regime. The military seized control of the Southeast Asian nation in 2021. The report found the regime has killed over 5,000 civilians since then. Nearly half of those deaths occurred between April 2023 and June 2024, a 50% increase compared to the previous year. The military has also attacked hundreds of religious sites including churches. Christians who are often part of ethnic minorities have faced increased violence as well. Myanmar is ranked 17th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of nations where it is most dangerous to be a Christian. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indonesian officials release Christian apologist from jail Praise God! Indonesian officials released a Christian apologist from prison earlier this year. International Christian Concern confirmed the release last week. Authorities arrested Gratia Pello back in 2022 for allegedly insulting Islam. Pello taught at a Christian school in East Java and published many videos defending Christianity. A local Christian leader previously told Morning Star News, “The police always put the arrest of Christians on their priority list, but they are silent when it comes to the many . . .
