  • Episode 8 - Diversity and inclusion: Advancing the 'S' agenda in the workplace
    Jun 21 2023

Welcome to episode 8 of our ten-part podcast series on ESG. I'm your host, Therese Baptiste of ThereseBaptiste.com, and today we'll be diving into Diversity and inclusion: Advancing the 'S' agenda in the workplace. As an international consultant specializing in leadership coaching and the social impact of ESG, I'm excited to explore this topic with you.

Diversity and inclusion play a crucial role in fostering fairness, equality, and driving innovation and business success. Let's delve into the significance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Diversity encompasses the representation of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, and backgrounds within an organization. Inclusion, on the other hand, focuses on creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included, regardless of their differences. When organizations embrace diversity and foster inclusion, they unlock the potential for collaboration, creativity, and growth

Diversity and inclusion have become important topics in the business world in recent years. Companies are recognizing the value of having diverse and inclusive workplaces, not just for social reasons but also for business reasons. Research shows that diverse and inclusive workplaces can lead to better business outcomes, including increased innovation, better decision-making, and improved financial performance.

To advance the social agenda in the workplace, companies must take a proactive approach to diversity and inclusion. This involves creating a culture of diversity and inclusion, where employees feel valued and respected, and where differences are celebrated.

In this podcast we explore a few examples of companies that have excelled at implementing D&I policies and those that have faced public attention due to their struggles in this area.
    Companies covered include
Microsoft, Uber, Salesforce, Accenture, H&M, Google and Intel.
