Not a usual sight when minding your own business, a man appeared in the doorway, completely naked apart from socks on his feet. It took a few seconds for Thomas to realise that the man’s face, hands, and body were drenched in blood. Before Thomas could react, the man looked directly at him and spoke the words: “I rebuke thee in the name of Satan”… (Part 1 of 2).

According to colleagues, Fiona Beal had been going through a tough time, and they were worried she would do something drastic…

    Oct 20 2024

Monday mornings were typically quiet. However, on August 23rd, 1971, four men wearing dark glasses and hats stormed into the shop. Joseph thought fast and ducked down—he hastily locked himself in the back room before the men could see him. He could hear the shop assistants being ordered to the floor at gunpoint, so Joseph pressed the silent alarm that alerted officers at Blackpool Police Station. It was 9:41 am. Within 15 minutes, three men would be fighting for their lives, and one of the largest manhunts in Lancashire history would be launched in search of one of the men responsible…

Brilliant show!

Living in the UK myself and being obsessed with true crime, this was exactly the show I wanted to follow. Great job!

Great stories but ruined by ads

I've been following this podcast now for several years. The research and delivery are great. There's often crimes I'd not heard of, so it's interesting to hear new stories. However the adverts are becoming ridiculous. There's several minutes now at the start of every one, and another ad break during the reading. As someone who already pays 7.99 a month for audible I don't want to listen to adverts. It's annoying when it ruins the flow of the reading and especially spoils it if you're listening at night, as the ads usually contain music or loud voices. Considering quitting this one now, as I'm not going to pay more money on top to their separate subscription

The voice is very slow and monotone

Good but...

The narration was very monotonous. It sounds a lot like an AI generated voice and this kind of spoils the whole thing.

Great listen

I’ve followed this podcast via Apple for the last couple of years. Always with good and interesting cases. Recommend to anyone who is interested in true crime.

Brilliant podcast

I really enjoy listening to these podcasts. I originally found them on YouTube but now follow on audible. The episodes are thorough, detailed and well thought out. They are a good length as I spend a lot of time in the car and out on walks. I enjoy the quiet time to reflect and get really absorbed by the stories. Some are very sad, but are told in a way that is sympathetic to the innocent parties involved. I look toward to the new episodes coming soon. Thank you.

Very interesting!

I like the way that the story is explained each time it doesn’t give too much information straight away so that you get bored
